I'm new to the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I've been looking for the right truck for the last few months and finally found what I was looking for this past weekend. I picked up a 2009 TRD 4x4 Doublecab V6 with a 6 speed from a dealership in Memphis on Labor Day. It is Timberland Mica with Graphite interior. The truck has 75k miles on it and is in great shape. The only things I have done to it have been minor maintenance. I replaced the air, cabin and oil filter with Napa Gold and put Mobil 1 high mileage synthetic in it.

My short list of items for the truck is a campershell and ARB front bumper, but I'm looking forward to driving it as is for the time being. From what I've seen on the forum so far, you all seem to be a very knowledgeable bunch and it seems like a great place to learn more about these awesome trucks.

Holy thread revival Batman! I suppose it's ok to do since I am the OP.

    Time for my 3rd post:

Over the past 7 years, I've put 86k pretty rough miles on the truck. It's been off roading a bunch and I use it to tow my boat pretty regularly. I've had to replace the drive shaft center support, one of the rear door lock actuators, one CV shaft, clutch master cylinder, upper/lower ball joints, some u-joints and brake pads. I do my own work, so none of this was expensive. I'm extremely happy with how reliable it has been.

Now on to the mods. In my first post, I mentioned that I wanted to get an ARB bumper and a camper shell. I did that, and a few other things.

    OME lift/Dakar Springs
    255/85-16 Toyo MT's currently
4x Innovations high rise rear bumper, sliders, shovel/Hi-lift mount
    Relentless fab hood CB mount
Alpine stereo w/ mic routed into overhead console
    Polk speakers
    Katzkin leather seats
    Weathertech mats
    Birddawg tech deck
    Lockerdown safe
and probably a few other things I'm not remembering.

Purchased, but yet to be installed:
    ARB Compressor/Front locker
    CB
    Warn Platinum winch

On the short list: better skid plates

I’ll dig up some pictures of the changes over the years.

This was the day I bought the truck in Memphis, TN:
    IMG_0209.jpg

I made it about 10k miles before I put on the lift, ARB, and Camper Shell:
    9VutMznGaD.jpg

I got some hail damage and discovered it was way cheaper to line-x the roof than to pop out all the dents. Another upside is that it looks badass and I never had to worry about roof scratches, dents, etc. again.

At some point, I painted the wheels black:

Going off road is fun for the whole family:

After my 4th set of 255/85/16 M/Ts, I was looking for tires and saw Toyo released the Open Country A/T in 35x11.5x17. It was enough to make me jump. I ordered a some and set of Bronze SEMA clone wheels in 17x9” with 0 offset.

    upload_2020-12-6_18-16-47.jpg

Well, that’s not going to fit.

    upload_2020-12-6_18-16-47.jpg

I’ll admit, this part was a bit of a leap of faith.

    upload_2020-12-6_18-16-47.jpg

Much better. I installed 4.88s, and an ARB in the front as well. SPC upper control arms are on the way, then I’ll put on the new wheels and tires.

Its a bit ridiculous with the 4.88 gears and 33” tires. The speedometer is off over 20 mph at 70, but it sure is responsive.
