I think some just want a new and different type of vehicle every year or two,, or three. If that's what floats your boat, then do it.

My wife has a 2018 CX-5, I love to have the option to drive that then back to the truck. It's a fun little suv and it's got alot of zip. Smooth like butter.

True. Why for a long time we had 3 vehicles for 2 drivers. A Highlander for people moving/road trips, a Sonoma for light haul/local foul weather duty and a Miata for commuting/good weather/SCCA fun.

If you pick the right vehicles just a few years old you can buy and operate 3 like this for less than many single new vehicles.

    Miata.

Why do you need to ask others what you should do? Only you can determine what is going to be best for you. If you don’t want or need a truck and you think you would be better served with a different vehicle, then just get what you want without resorting to a committee decision.

Once a truck guy, always a truck guy. Only you know if you are for sure.

A true statement, however, I know there are folks in the same situation as me and sometimes they experience or see things I am not considering right now, so it’s good to get a few opinions before making a decision. Like I said, I’m about 95% sure I will be making the switch.

    Maybe not.

Like any other 'thing' in life, almost all will change if you live long enough.

Especially 'things' and their usefulness. We adapt to meet current needs.

We have 2 Mazdas in the family right now. My daughter has a 2017 Mazda 3 and my wife has a 2020 CX5. So far they have both been great cars and seem to have very good build quality.

In the end I think my end goal is to have a reliable manual transmission family car and possibly a big ole Ford diesel for the weekend.
