I want to put a set of driving lights on a 2014 tacoma. I do not want fog lights, need something to help see the road better at night. Especially when roads are wet. Do not want to blind oncoming traffic.

Let me offer some opinions - and some additional questions. I can understand your desire for more / better lighting. I too have a 2014 Tacoma. The biggest question I have though is exactly what you mean by "something to see the road better at night." Do you mean more foreground or distance lighting? You can gain more foreground lighting with a good set of SAE compliant fog beams. The most recent SS3 offerings from Diode Dynamics offer incredible to staggering amounts of foreground lighting depending on which model you select. (Sport, Pro or Max) The beauty of an SAE fog pattern is that you can use them and not bother oncoming drivers as long as they're properly aimed.

If you want distance lighting, you want more of a driving pattern. There are a number of add on driving pattern lights available including driving patterns in the DD SS3 mentioned above. The only problem with good driving beams is that you cannot use them with oncoming traffic. They will indeed bother oncoming drivers, so you can only use them with your high beams.

Another option you might want to consider if you want the best of both worlds is the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade. This upgrade literally gives you the best of both worlds. Although not quite as good with foreground lighting as a good fog beam and not quite as good at distance lighting as a good driving beam, the upgrade does an awesome job of improving both. I have it in my truck and wouldn't trade it for the world. Of course I also have DD SS3 Pro fogs and a 30" DD LED driving pattern light bar for when I need more light.

Driving lights should be linked to highbeams, you don't want to be shining these at anyone.

There are a lot of nice options- I can't recommend BajaDesigns enough.
I've replaced my fog lights with driving combo lights and added driving spot lights to the ditch mounts -I don't get much fog, and spend much more time driving backroads in the dark.
