    G'day TW!

I'm an Aussie transplant who has been in Indiana for 6 years. I have a 2019 Off-Road Crew Cab Short Bed that I'm hoping to gradually build up over the next few years. It's a great truck, but nothing like the old 1992 diesel hilux I had back in Australia!

    Cheers,
    Mitch

I'm from Brisbane. Did lots of trips to Fraser Island over the years. We usually get back once or twice a year, but not since COVID...

How long have you been in the US? I'm trying to find good touring/overlanding here in the Midwest, but its a bit hard to find (at least in IN).

    I’ve been here since 94
I spent a fair amount of time up your way - Noosa mostly ! My grand father had a home up there as well
As far as good over landing your best bet is the UP in Michigan I Highly recommend Drummond island in the late spring it is just beautiful and remote and about as close to the remote Australia you’d remember
That or head south to Kentucky and do the Daniel Boone loop
If you ever want to do a western trip LMK . I am gonna make a New Mexico trip this winter
And Arkansas has tons of great trails too that I am Pretty familiar with

I'm a Hoosier as well. Bloomington is home but I've been in the south for a few years. Still make it up a couple times a year to visit friends.

Yeah, I loved that truck. I had an '88 4runner with a 2.4L diesel before that, so I was used to slow (and gutless...). Great offroad vehicles though.
