My friend has a 2014 DC TRD OR automatic 60k miles, with an eibach pro lift kit, about 3” lift in the front. Lift has been in for about 3 years. He recently tore both sides inner CV boots. Any thoughts on why? How to prevent this in the future? We are gonna replace them. All Pro boots on oem shaft? I’ve searched this up but get all sorts of conflicting information.

3” lift probably tears them via more stressful angles than stock

Some companies sell longer CV boots that claim to handle that use better

It’s not at a bad angle at all. That’s why it’s weird they both just randomly broke at the same time

i think any lift creates more contact of the boot material touching together. I know there is a mod that specifically shows you how to stretch the boot farther to keep the bellows farther apart using the parts you take off when you replace the boots on the existing cv's which are a lot better quality than some of the cheaper replacements you can buy. I did the job myself with normal tools with the help of info here and youtube. I'm pretty handy, but had never tried anything like it before and got through it fine. the second side was way quicker.

It’s the lift+Not enough space between the rubber fins, which rub. Here’s a great video on how to replace the boots plus adding the boot spacer mod. Took me about 2 hours start to finish

EDIT: this is the correct video https://youtu.be/vcCT4UgFUTw
