My wife recently got a 2015 4Runner. I have a set of steelies from my 2009 with snow tires I want to let her run for the winter. I tried to fit them yesterday and it seems they hit the calipers on the inside of the wheel. Has anyone run these with spidertrax for clearance?

They are 16"s. You need 17"s to clear the calipers, which is what all T4Rs come with.

Yeah I realize they are 16"s and the 4R has 17"s. My question is, will they work with wheel spacers? 1.5" or 1.25"? It would be a much cheaper route rather than buying another set of wheels and snow tires for her. I'd rather not buy a set of spacers to find they don't work just to return them and lug wheels and tires around for an hour.

Let me rephrase my question, what size spacers will be required to run 16" steelies? I'm trying to avid the above photo on a stock 4runner..

I mean, let's look at it like this, I guess the steelies are 7" wide (let's just assume that for now). I don't know how much the caliper sticks out from the center of the hub but there's not a TON of clearance on my 5th gen even with the 17"s. I think, you are going to have to push the wheel out close to half the wheel width, 3.5". So I guess ballpark you will need a 3-3.5" wheel spacer. Which is why I posted that picture above.
