I bought the Total chaos uniball removal and install tool, also bought a bearing press on Amazon to go with it. Was $100 total so happy to share them if others need to replace LCA or UCA joints.

Gonna very sadely admit my Tacoma has been parked for 3.5 years now all because i said I was needing to replace Uniballs and stuff and talked myself into a Tundra as new DD. Still havnt done them is the problem (but did redo lots of other stuff on bright side).

    near Monroe, WA.

you should start soaking those things with PB blaster now and add more daily for at least a week if you plan on removing them anytime soon.

Thanks for offer, seems.everyone that has one is up North. May be good reason to own one for us down this direction. And with 3 trucks that have Uniballs guess itd be worth owning.

I figure im gonna pull the arms and do bushings and everything so they have to go on a press anyway so getting them out shouldn't be horrible compared to rest of what project has in store. Cutting away the engine bay to get the arm up and off the coil bucket is the part id been waiting on doing until i was ready to finish the engine cage and rehang the glass. See why it hasnt moved in so long/ happened yet?

Soon to be owned in Portland area ... A uniball tool haha

I believe most AutoZone's will lend one to you for free with a deposit or you can also use the Amazon "tool rental" method (and don't feel bad about it).

thanks! I’ll have to look at autozone. Didn’t realize they’re renting the whole press. I think you need something substantial for the wheel bearings.

I’m in North Portland, and I have a 2 1/2 ton floor jack, a pair of 3 ton locking jack stands, OBD2 scanner, multimeters, a ball joint puller, pittman arm puller, a BFH, and a few more things. Nothing crazy, but I’m happy to loan it to someone in need if they’re good people.

Anyone in the PDX area have a lead on how I could get 4 snapped bolts drilled out and tapped? Any and all suggestions welcome.

For context, I was trying to remove the side mirror housing to install new led mirror covers, and the bolts that hold the foldable section on are soft af and loctited from the factory. I used a soldering iron to heat them up and hit with an impact, but still snapped a couple. Then I snapped a couple harbor freight extractors (expected, i know) trying to get them out with no luck.

Wish you were closer, have a bunch of extraction tools, do you have a picture of the broken bolts?

Hey Justin, thanks for the reply!
Here’s a picture of one of the bolts stuck in there. The other mirror has all three snapped off unfortunately.

This is the set i have and would use for a break like that. You match the silver drill bit “guide” to the size of the bolt. Drill it out with the correct size bit. Then you tap in the actual extractor part and then put the turn nut and back it out.

I’m sure there has to be another company that offers a similar product for less$$$

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I appreciate that you took the time.

Definitely a good idea to get quality extractors. The harbor freight ones I used at first broke when I was trying to extract the screws on the other mirror.
These screws are the softest metal, but so stubborn! I've even heated them up to loosen the locktite.

Because I have other mirrors, this is a side project and I'm at a point where I have a hard time justifying the purchase of quality extractors or a good tap/die set.
I'm leaning towards bringing them to a machine shop if anyone can refer me to one near pdx.

I wish it was! lol but yeah, might have to get some of those
I tried that method on the other mirror, but it tore the exposed half of the screw apart. I swear these screws are like a tube of play-doh with a titanium loc-tite shell.

Anyone have the tools/software to do a tpms reset for my summer wheels? Thinking of purchasing the ATWQ VT37-0000, but figured I’d check here first. I have oem sensors in my summer set and aftermarket in my winter set. And I don't have a PC so techstream won’t be something I plan to purchase.
