Hi Guys, what's the best option for a simple ~40 inch full roof light bar for my truck without drilling the body? Simple that I could put it up without a technician.
You guys helped me for seat lifting and I believe you could give some advise about this.
Or a website that sells the best option, I've been in web for a few day and couldn't find anything

I’d look more for a no drill roof mount and buy whatever bar you want after that.

Most people will say buy CaliRaised light bar, but fuck CaliRaised, so I won’t.

For a roof mount bar, hood glare is a significant issue. To avoid hood glare and get the maximum intensity out of the bar you want something with superior light control and focus. That would be Diode Dynamics Stage bars and the KC Pro6 bar. The KC bar is expensive, but the DD bars are far more reasonably priced. What you don’t want is to put a cheap China bar up there which will be nearly useless with the hood glare and low intensity output.

^^^ Resident lighting expert and engineer.

I went with the Diode Dynamics Stage light bar and some LED pod fog lights. I cant imagine needing anymore off road light than that. The price isn't totally insane for the bar either if you catch it on sale. I will be installing this weekend.

This setup is totally reversible to stock, there's no hood glare, there's no wind noise, and there's no "bro-ness / Jeep-ness" of having a visible light bar.

The expensive alternative is a roof rack and light bar.

Do you recommend spot optic only for the roof?

Spot isn't usually very useful unless combined with other optics. I would recommend a driving optic in KC or DD, which will have enough focus to prevent hood glare but cover a much larger area than spot. In the case of the KC Pr06 bar, you could do a combination of spot and driving. What you want to avoid on the roof is flood, or bars that have an open face reflector bucket with a forward facing emitter (where you can see the LED emitter) as that will have significant light spill as much of the output is not controlled, resulting in hood glare.

Edit: You can see examples of driving patterns in the SAE J581 thread, the Pro6 is covered in the initial post and a Diode Dynamics amber bar is covered in post #43 here, and Spot examples in post #49 here.

Yeah I can't say I'm at all impressed with the caliraised light products.
