It's been an 'eventful' last couple of weeks. She finally got some new shoes and 33s. Black Rhino Bantam in Bronze and Yoko Geolanders MT in 285/75/16. CMC completed to nix the scrubbing. Switched out the headlights for Alpharex Luxx series and also installed sequential mirror lights.

Do the wheel have a different offset than OE? Looks fantastic BTW!

AHH loved it. You had a beginning, a middle, and an ending. If that was a collage paper you'd get a B+. Well done.

I have the OE PRO wheels and just hate the stance but I really do not want to get rid of them just yet and i'm not crazy about spacers.

To be fair, it is both the government and private enterprise tacking on. The whole thing is terrible. I live in NY and visit my family in Quebec pretty regularly. I would be willing to haul a crap ton of stuff to CA when they re-open the border. But then working out the logistics might be tricky.

But in terms of shipping, you have private brokerage and processing fees on top of all of the taxes from the federal government and the provincial government.

"When someone wants to ship internationally (and that includes US to Canada) they pay an automatic premium for International Shipping. When the package is destined for Canada, other fees also apply. Every package, regardless of size or destination that crosses the border is subject to: a brokerage fee, processing fees, and the GST or HST fee. With all three of these costs stacked onto the final shipment bill, most packages are relatively pricy."

It's got little to do with the gov't and more to do with shipping companies having free reign to charge whatever the fuck they want. Brokerage fees*, service fees, handling fees, and freight fees are all ways they can tack on nonsensical, mostly made-up charges as a way to gouge the public who orders commodities from outside of Canada. Larger items typically get exorbitantly higher fees. There's no oversight and little regulation by gov't agencies up here, so the consumer ultimately gets screwed unless they know of workarounds such as using a parcel handling service in border towns along the 49th to self-broker their shipments.

    * brokerage fees are typically comprised of applicable taxes and/or duties but shipping companies also charge their own processing fees and service charges as part of the brokerage process and those tend to vary for no specific or logical reason

I've managed to avoid spending hundreds of dollars by using a parcel handling service. I highly recommend it to anyone here in Canada who shops frequently online with US vendors. It's easy to set up and the service fees they charge are extremely reasonable, not to mention it helps support local business in mostly rural communities along the border.
