Considering the mediums as well. What ended up being the after measurements?

I know a lot of Dobinsons coils are sold out right now, but there's a price increase next week, October 1st, on all coils!! Any orders placed until then, even if they're on backorder, will still get the current pricing.

    Just a heads up!!

@Crikeymike I have the medium duty front coils and struts that I bought from you about 4 years ago. On average about how many miles should they last. I carry about 200# in the access cab and an average of 500# in the bed. Also, have put somewhere between 110,000 to 120,000 miles on them. I have been super happy with my Dobinsons suspension. The best I’ve had on my truck.

I have been told that, in general, front coils last around 100k miles before requiring replacement. Twin-tube nitrocharger shocks are also usually replaced at 100k miles, vice 75k for monotube shocks and ~50k for rebuildable coilovers. These numbers are based off averages from a handful of user reports here on TW, so take them with a grain of salt. Your environment and use case will have a significant effect on component longevity.

thank you, I thought it was around 100,000 for replacement.

Yeah I'd have said 100K miles as well just based on averages. I put about 60k on the twin tube setup I took off my 4runner in January and it was still riding like new with no sagging.

Why do rebuildable shocks, that are about 10x the price of the nitro-chargers or monotubes, and cost as much or more than replacing nitrochargers to get rebuilt last only half-3/4 as long? I get the twin tubes are different technology that don't perform as well but have better longevity but aren't the rebuildable ones monotubes with more robustness, adjustability, etc... I'd hope they'd last the same or longer given similar use conditions.

I was also wondering if anyone has had any experience with the heavy leaves in the rear on an empty bed. I have a four wheel camper so I need the heavys but I don't necessarily have it on full time and usually when it's not on the truck I just use it for around town in fair weather (socal) I also might do more technical offroading with it unloaded as well. I realize I have to make compromises just trying to figure out where the right compromise is to be made. I also currently have Firestone airbags so medium+airbag could be an option too.

I have the 111 heavy springs on my DCLB. My bed is empty, less ~100 lbs of tools and a bed mat. The rear-end ride quality has been described as “plush” by people with more finely-tuned butt dynos than me (@EatSleepTacos). Bear in mind that the DCLB contributes a fair bit more weight to the rear end than your ACLB, which will presumably smooth out the ride a bit.

    Butt dyno....LMAO

I'm not too sensitive on that either, but I would like to know if I can expect the rear to stay on the ground on say a curved freeway overpass at posted yellow speed limit/suggestion in general (preferably in some rain since it does rain every once in a while here).

Mike, I have a 2nd gen dcsb v6 4x4. I upgraded my 5th gen 4Runner to the 302’s and still have my 300’s. What kind of lift would the 300’s give me on the Tacoma?

Did anyone with an AC take measurements with the L59-110-R leaf packs? I don't really want a lift, just better leafs over stock and i'm hearing both 1" and 2" expected lift with this part number. Hopefully closer to the 1" on the AC platform.

I can't remember his name or handle on here, but a guy got the 110R's last year, or might have been the year before, and got 1" of lift exactly on his long bed with no weight. Hopefully some others will chime in.

The L59-110-R should not lift 2" on a long bed. They're listed by default as 2" on a DCSB, but the different in cab and bed weight have them squat down to a lower height.

I removed the extra leaf from my 111 pack, turning it into a 110 pack, and ended up 2" above stock @ 23.5" on my DCLB (edit: 3rd gen). :notsure: I do have Hammer Hangers, but I don't think they added lift. :curls:

I'm curious what the exact use case/setup is for these extended length shocks. Are these intended to work with the existing Dobinsons leaf packs and provide extra droop somehow? Would airbags count as extended bump stops?

They're more intended to be sold separately to people wanting additional/different travel shocks than what is out there already.

A lot of people had been asking for shocks with 2" more down travel and that's what the 941 shocks do, but they're not considered part of the full suspension kit that Dobinsons regularly sells.
