ON-ON Double Pole Double Throw Switch
Power to the Tailgate camera CB+ gets sent to cab switch then back to camera via connector. This is cut-off when switch is selected to other position. In the other position fused IGN sourced power is sent to power wire of added camera, making added camera the video feed provider.
DPDT switch should be non-illuminated or independent illumination.

I don't understand what exactly I'm building but I do see harness numbers and other words. Subbing to absorb knowledge via osmosis.

It all makes sense to me, but a a BoM would be pretty cool.

You’d be better off with a relay vs those two diodes. Use the common contact of the relay to sent power to the HU for camera override, reverse to NC and ign to NO. Then power the coil from the switch.

Would this be able to be wired in series with an existing CS anytime camera setup? I’ve *thought out* the wiring with latch circuits to be able to cycle through multiple add-on cameras once I’ve activated my front cam, but that’s only necessary for 2+ add-ons. This mightwork for a single additional add-on.

Do you just use screen clipping to get a picture of the circuitry from the manuals (don't know precisely what they're called, but I have them and they look like your pictures and they show circuit breakdowns for most everything)? Then use paint or something similar to fill in colors for circuit paths? Your responses are always helpful and pictures professional.

What does BN1 mean, and the numbers beside it, for the wires coming in and out of the added weatherproof box?

P.S. The added camera and everything else, minus the HU tap can be added with just an ON/OFF switch to the relay for those towing and need to see behind what they are towing while in reverse instead of viewing what they are towing (tailgate cam view).

So BN1 being a single connector, the 5 wires going in/out refer to pins on BN1, which will mate with its corresponding connector as a part of the bumper box?

The steering wheel controls from the Germes kit are well worth the price of admission. I use it every day as I need to park within 2-3” tolerance.

a rotary rear camera selector, though, would be quite nice. I want a higher performing option and if I ever towed I’d want one there. Great concept. Wonder if we could maybe use the mirror control selector as a 3 position. I suppose a standard rocker would also work, default to tailgate, up for trailer, down for license plate?

Id still probably rather multiplex in the cab where it’s weatherproof than in the bumper where it isn’t.

I’ll have to find my posts, but there are some latching circuits that would work with a momentary switch to cycle through inputs.

Four wires per connector. The 5th you counted (red n pink) is the relay actuation. Separate run into cab then to switch.

As long as they are dual circuit simultaneous actuating type.

I'd love a good rotary switch. I tried to get one for the normal anytime backup camera mod but couldn't find one that looked like it work and/or fit.
