    Im back...maybe.

I have a burning desire for a Tacoma to the point where I think buying a 250k mile 2008 is sound AND I plan on shipping it to my house.

Speedway Blue, DCSB, 6MT, 4WD, clean title and no rust issues.

She's gorgeous, and I miss my previous 2nd gen dearly.

Give me tips on how to bring down the price from 11k! Its at a Honda dealership.

Or just slap the hell out of me so I can wait for a better one...

How many owners? You can’t beat a 2nd gen :D

...but if it were my cash I’d use it for a down payment on something newer with less mileage on it preferably 2013+ but I know those come at a premium.

I’m assuming you sold your 2010?

2 owners! I wrecked the ever loving shit out of my 2010. Bought a Charger to commute, but quickly realized how often I used the truck for truck things. So here I am!

That was my next question. One is not like the other. It’s for you to decide and you’ll know best. I know they’re strong motors but I’m not sure on the common problems once the mileage starts getting high and that goes for the non so common problems as well.

I’d take a Tacoma over a charger any day. Have you been looking for awhile or did the Tacoma find you?

I say take it for a spin and have an independent mechanic look it over but my biggest concern would be the engine and trans if everything else is clean.

Unless you have another commuter car fulltime and know the maintenance history of the tacoma, I would pass due to the mileage. Wearable items will likely need replacing constantly along with larger cost items such as HG. The costs will add up to equal buying a newer one with lower mileage.

Found 5 in Texas same year mileage the same selling for 12.5-14.8. 11k is looking pretty good. But hey cash talks and bullshit walks. Go in with 100s in the amount you wanna pay , tell them take it or leave it.

    My 95 cents worth

Personally I wouldn't purchase any vehicle with very high mileage. Not sure how long you've been looking but don't rush. Watch your local listings there's Tacomas out there with less mileage they will cost more but I believe you'll save in the long run.

Wait, watch and it will pay off
