I bought a new 2019 Tacoma Tacoma with a V6 and it seems to hesitate or buck when accelerating around 1400RPMs. If you floor it it seems to shift and go right thru this slight bucking episode. I tried looking for something similar. Anyway the dealership stated its nothing and no codes thrown.
I looked at this T-SB-0079-15: Intermittent 2nd - 3rd Up Shift Flare but it is for 2016s.

Just wanted to see if anybody else has experienced this?

Any speed and any gear go back to throttle and when you hit 1400 its as if the computer is confused as to up shift or down shift.

19's have a shift update as well pertaining to them.

Have you done the fuel pump recall yet? You can ask for both.

Have you had the T-SB-0092-20 completed?

no, took to dealership and they said no codes thrown no problems. Rotated the tires and gave it back. Only 10k miles on it. Do you have a TSB # for the fuel pump recall? They didn't mention any recalls.
see the T-SB-0092-20 now. I will call Monday and ask. Thank you

You don't need it to throw codes, here is the TSB.

Wow only getting 15 mpg in town and maybe 17-18 on highway (it is a 4x4) no lift. This could be the issue.
I bought this for my son and he is in the Navy in Norfolk and using a local dealership in VA Beach.
I told him to create an account and follow this thread.

This is exactly what it is doing. anything between 1300-1600 RPMs. Outside of that it acts pretty normal.
Thank you guys very much. I knew somebody here would have the answer.

Where are you located? Probably someone close by you that can do the update for you faster than it would take to convince the dealer to do it.

I'm here too. There are 5-6 dealerships here. Find the thread "Calling All Virginians (Tidewater area)," someone there might be able to tell you which dealership he should take it to based on their experience. From what I've seen in this forum, some dealerships are willing to play ball, and some aren't. Good luck!

I’m surprised that there are dealers that balk on doing the update. It is a known problem and Toyota approved. I am so glad the dealership I work with is so responsive.

Especially when the dealers bill Toyota for half an hour labor and it is just plugging in a connector and hitting a button on a laptop. Besides, you would think they would want their customers happy so they would come back and buy another Toyota one day. Too bad most dealerships have dreadful customer service these days.

He is on CG 66 USS Hue City. working with Vella Gulf and Gettysburg. It was the Toyota dealership in Chesapeake on Greenbriar. I told him to call toyota in VA Beach or Norfolk and speak to a service manager and explain.

Take @bonifacio_629's advice. I don't know what it takes to get a dealership to do updates because no dealers in my area will perform them, even with a T-SB in hand.

Thank you for your service, and tell him I said the same.
