I have searched and can not find an answer. I grabbed some Sylvania 921 leds to swap out the stock lamps. The stock lamps work but the led will not. Help a dummy get leds to work. Any help is appreciated.

That's it? So some led bulbs a directional? Ok, I will give that a shot.
    And if that doesn't work?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I believe ALL LED bulbs are directional (polarity matters).

Do one at a time. Not sure if one backwards will cut out both.

Same thing happened to me when I did my dome lamp. Thought it was a bad LED until I read up on installing LED's. I felt foolish.

No, you're not a dummy you are learning.

My $0.02: Go get a volt meter, doesn't have to be expensive (Harbor Freight will do) and use it to determine polarity (+/-) of both the LED bulb and the light fixture BEFORE you plug anything in.

For these trucks some folks have reported blowing out their ECUs by installing LEDs backwards. I haven't seen anything for tail lights but the map/dome lights have been mentioned more than a few times in here.

    Be safe rather than sorry!

No, I am not a dummy. But when it comes to electrical my brain doesn't put 2 and 2 together. Hopefully you understand what I mean by that. I haven't seen any of those threads where ECUs have been killed. That suck.

Backup LEDs work now. Thanks for the help everyone!

All LED i have worked with have a polarity that needs to be correct. Some are marked +/-
Even the Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs I installed yesterday need the polarity correct. On those the DD connection is keyed on the light so you can't mess up there but the end that connects to the plug on the Tacoma's harness you can plug in either way. I got it wrong on both sides the 1st time.
