Did you guys also believe the dude who suggested ice welding? LOL

OP parks on iced driveway - that he himself slid on - truck slides down driveway - blames truck - takes to the internet.

Where does he blame the truck? He is asking what the best way to park on a ice/snow covered driveway.

Ok.. I didn't blame the truck. Also, I got a lot of good info about parking in 4hi so I'm glad I posted and I hope it will help others.

N2 vs Air in tires for non-racing use. What a farce.

My tires have a mix of roughly 80% N2 and 20% O2. Cost was free.

Clear the drive of snow. Use a mix of Ice Melt and sand. The Ice Melt will clear the ice, but is temperature limited. The sand will provide grip as the ice melt begins to work and below the temperature when Ice Melt quits working.

One note. Try to use a pet friendly Ice Melt. Some of this stuff is toxic and can injure paws.

    Clear the ice.
Put down cat litter where the tires will be.
Drill a couple holes in the concrete and put down some anchor bolts then install a D ring and attach a strap from the hitch to the D ring. Seem this before, it works but remember to disconnect the strap before tryin to leave.

I would say it’s because he still has summer air in his tires and forgot to rotate it out with winter air. Everyone knows winter air is heavier and wouldn’t let the truck slide down like that.

Driveway is asphalt. I won't be strapping the truck down. That's just asking for trouble when I forget I did it lol

I'd touch the edge of the grass with one of the drive tires if I had this issue.

My work parking spot does this from time to time, its pretty funny.

My thoughts exactly. I use wood pellets for cat litter . I will consider putting some sand down though.

True. Forgot that my cat is spoiled with walnut litter.

I looked at doing this, but even if I back all the way in, the front tire would just go in the ditch if I turn towards the grass. Not good

    :rofl::rofl:

But seriously, not worse than asking for trouble with it in the middle of the street. o_O

You could fix up a 'reminder'. Hang one of these on your steering wheel when you are strapping down.

Haha I'm an aviation nerd so this is actually pretty sick! I'll have to tape a pre flight checklist to my steering wheel.

Getting the ice off the drive is about it. Or park on the gravel/lawn.

GENIOUS, the benefits are two-fold; that would also clear the ice and snow!
