I have a friend who is getting rid of his replica 4Runner TRD Pro 17" wheels, and he's willing to sell them to me for $200. I figured I can't pass that up, especially because I have the god-awful SR steel wheels.

But... how should I feel about replica wheels? He's had them on his 4Runner for a year or so, and he says he's never had a problem with them; just some scratches and chips that aren't too noticeable. He's taken them off-road, which is mainly just some gravel roads and mud here in Florida.

He got them off this website:

Seems a very good percentage/ (maybe majority) here that go for pro wheels use replicas. I think there is only one brand making them in that style of pro wheels, and I’ve not read any issues. If the price it right, go for it. Certain things I’d never get replica, due to quality and/or R&D costs, but wheels I wouldn’t worry about if the quality is their.

I'd buy them and run them.

I have the replica wheels as well and they work fine. Unfortunately I've lost the centre cap on one of them and have been unsuccessful in finding a replacement. The OEM ones do not fit.....just letting you know.

I have FN FX Pros on preorder from the manufacturer. They are $800 shipped, less if you pay cash and pick up in person, which I will. I'm wondering if there is any difference between these and the ones OP posted. Before tax and shipping, a set of 4 of OPs wheels is $688. Best looking wheel out there IMO

I bought the rims in Canada, but they look the same. The OEM centre caps don't fit.

I've heard about the FN FX wheels being great replica wheels, that's why I was a little hesitant with these. That website also has them in the matte gray.

The FN are 17x8 and weigh a little less than 24 lbs. The heavier the wheels, the less the mpg’s. Not that it matters : )

At that price it's hard to beat, ceramic coating them could help if you wheel often
