    no pics. I did the upgrade in this original post. Kicker speakers all around and the Subaru tweeters. No deadening material. I’ll post once I get a few hours on the speakers and drive it a bit

    The main thing I realised is that this thread is perfect for people that have the ‘premium’ head unit. Do you know what HU you have?

    There are like 4 different ones with different amps built in...Audio, Audio Plus, Premium & PremiumJBL. I have the crappy ‘audio’ HU and definitely needed a separate amp. Now my system is pretty darn good :)

    But where on the 2020 harness does this blue wire get connected? That’s the problem we’re having :anonymous:

    I haven't seen the connectors from the HU for the 2020, but you're looking to connect the trigger wire (blue) to the "dimmer gound." If you could find a schematic, it should be fairly easy to identify. Maybe @caribe makaira can help us find one

    Have you called Crutchfield? They may have already solved this riddle.

    Kicker speaker upgrade Tint Trimmed air dam Taco Tunes amp and sub 275/70/17 Wildpeaks
    Just ordered the Kickers from Crutchfield $178.61, free shipping. Got the tweeters off of Amazon for $0.00 using my Capital One points. Just picked up my 2021 SR so there’s gonna be a lot of upgrades. Will add and amp and sub later.

    Thanks, this thread really helped.

    @DamGuide
    there is a remote turn on wire for the 3rd gen...it can be referenced in my t-harness writeup for the 16-19 models. I believe it also works for some of gen 2, but I'm not positive. On the 16-19 models it's on the 6-pin 70-1761/71-1761 connectors. I'm not sure what the specific pinouts of the 2020+ radio are. However, TT sells a harness for y'all. It's just that no one has found done a DIY for it yet

    To clear some things up...

    I previously said something along the lines of

    “Of course the 2020 has a remote turn on!! Why wouldn’t it!”

    and then proceeded to look at the actual diagrams and even bought an aftermarket harness to see where the blue wire was pinned... and sure enough, there is NOT a remote wire or power antenna wire in the 2020+. If you are willing to splice into an extremely thin wire, you can grab the ACCY wire over on the radio’s main harness. Or ideally, you’ll grab the cig lighter wire because it is hot with the truck on.

    cig lighter won’t cut it, I want it on and off with the HU to get rid of that annoying ass hiss.

    I have the anytime backup camera harness, I don’t mind screwing with it. Would this ACCY wire turn on and off with the head unit? If so where is it at?

    No, accy is hot any time the truck is hot.

    Anyone have non biased thoughts on oem audio plus? Seems like every where I read reviews on it’s from someone that got the unit installed for cheap
