He's lucky he didn't start a year earlier and had that thing framed during the 7.2 earthquake we had a couple falls ago. Would've driven up to find a pile of matchsticks.

Drywall is up & electrical is ran and hooked up. Working on plumbing the bathroom next and hopefully get the finishing started on the drywall by the end of the week. And by that I mean, I hope the guy I’m hiring can start finishing by the end of the week!

I was stupid and when I had the house built I had them rough in plumbing for a half bath. Now I have to break up concrete to tie in for the shower. Sigh. Live & learn I guess

Called Milwaukee to see if I could order some fleece bags for that M12 Wet/Dry Vac as I wasn't able to find any in-stock online. Those bags do a fantastic job of keeping the primary filter very clean and significantly extends the life. They're sending me a complimentary 3 pack. Very generous of them.

Is that the Packout version? I ordered one the day they were released but HD canceled my order on me.

Is that the newer M12 Surge impact? I got one a few months ago and it’s AMAZING!

I’m eyeing that vacuum, trying to justify a use case for it...

had a fun week last week.

Was cutting some trim to frame out my bathroom mirror and the outside plug died. Went to reset GFCI and wouldnt reset. So i checked the breaker, breaker didnt pop. Went inside and checked the bathroom GFCI as its the same circuit, wont reset either. So i pull the box and notice i now have a hot neutral and hot ground. I run out to turn the breaker off to try to figure this out. Went through every socket on the circuit (which is far too many on one circuit.) Found a few small things but nothing crazy, ended at the first of the string and the PO did the push in on the plug and the neutral was out and laying on the black which was cut too far back and also touching the ground. What a mess. Fixed that socket and then went through the rest and pig tailed everything that wasnt already and the sockets were back to how they should be and correct.

Next i need to run a few more drops to break up that circuit which is half my damn house in the bedrooms. Previous owners son was an electrician, you know how that goes.

my house was an original Zinsco panel and they have 16 sockets on one circuit including both baths. Its ridiculous and now that its winter time i can run new drops to break it up some since i have a new panel with plenty of room.

My house has the Zinsco panel too... I still need to get a sparky out to replace it and run some more lines out to the garage, fix my jack/jill (I think thats the term?) switch in the living room, all the external outlets, and fix my constantly tripping GFCIs.

whats terrible is the previous owner added a secondary glass fuse type of power box out at the end of my garage that is T'd off the main source line. I have it minimized to just be the garage it powers now but i need to buy an attic ladder to hang in the garage and some board. So i can cut a hole in the garage roof (sheetrocked) and put the ladder there so i can drop all new lines in the garage and finally remove the last of the horrible electrical.

Not a current project, but my first big one. We'd bought our first house, built in the 70's. One day my wife said the plug in the bathroom was making noises. Like an idiot is told her "plugs don't make noises" and ignored the comment. Then one night I'm making a 2 AM pit stop and hear the crackly, spark, spark of a short circuit coming from the plug. I instantly went from 98% asleep to 100%:eek::eek::eek::eek:. Lucky me, I was introduced to the joys of aluminum wiring. I ended up replacing every plug, switch and light in that house. It was a wonder the house hadn't burned to the ground given how many of them showed serious evidence of over heating.
