Hey! I’ve got ties to the Dakotas and I lived up there last winter. Hoping to move to Rapid City in the future. I’m down home in Virginia right now but I’ll be up there from time to time.

 

Congratulations man. Haven't done trails around here yet, but i will def let you know what i could find.

 

Rapid City is nice. Black Hills area is the best for off roading and so many outdoor activities.

 

I love that area, it’s so nice there. We took my sister’s ‘06 Highlander out there last March and went to check out this hiking spot she had been to previously during summer. About two miles up a FS dirt road, but now it was winter and it was super mucky. Would’ve taken some careful driving even in the Taco but that Highlander ate it up. It was a blast, I was quite impressed with the car.

Next time I’m passing through I’ll try to remember to holler at ya! Sis and I are always out camping somewhere.

It’s just outside of Rapid City. My phone labeled the pictures as Keystone, we just put “hippie hole” in the GPS. Here’s a link to an article on it, there’s an alternate route that’s supposedly a little tougher we’re gonna try next time.

EDIT: thinking back on it, the GPS may have taken us up a wrong turn but we still managed to find it after turning back.
