Tons of information about Bilsteins and springs on this forum but need confirmation as I could not find an exact answer to my situation.

I have a 2005 4WD Long Bed Tacoma. It has 2" or 3" lift spacers in the front and a 1" block in the rear. I want to get Bilstein 5100's on all four corners.

If I get Bilsteins, can I keep the front spacers or can I get the same current height by adjusting the shocks with the clips? I know each Tacoma is different but could use some confirmation/input.

    Thanks in advance!

I wouldnt. The 5100's are Longer in extended length than stock shocks, and when paired with a lift spacer could make it to where you have too much droop. You would be better off ditching the spacer and setting the 5100 to the 1.75in or 2.5in setting (depending on your lift spacer amount)

Get 5100’s and coils which are designed to do the lifting, so you don’t sacrifice travel by using spacers.

OME makes an assortment of coils to meet your needs.

I thought about that. The previous owner believes it is a 3" spacer in the front but he is not exactly sure. I want to make sure the truck stays level so I'm not sure which coil I would get? I'd hate to get coils and then learn the front is too low or two high once installed. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Measure the spacer itself, a spacer that gives 3" of lift is exactly 1.5" thick.

I appreciate that tip/advice because I looked at the spacer and it's not 2 or 3" in height. I didn't know that's how they measure. Sounds good. Thanks!

I have never seen this posted but I found the same 2x relationship when setting the spring perch with the 5100; the spring perch adjustment rings are 3/4" apart and with each increments seemed to raise the front end 1 1/2". This was on a '06 OR with stock progressive springs. Please confirm for yourself or others comment.
