I feel most strongly about the long bed as well. I would buy a TRD Pro if it came with a long bed! I have not purchased it yet, but I prefer the TRD Off Road. I don't like the hood scope on the Sport and I like the additional four wheel drive capabilities although knowing it is overkill for most of the four wheeling I will be doing!

Perfectly well stated - visually and verbally! Coming from someone that would prefer a OR!

Love my Sport. No regrets. I have changed the suspension and air lockers are in my near future. Gears, lockers, armor have always been planned since I bought it. I prefer the faux scoop and painted fender flairs.

The letters didn’t get shipped. My wife notified WISH when we received the box the letters were missing. 10 days later Wish gave us a full refund and said just keep the item. 15 days after receiving the grille the letters showed up. My wife called to repay and the CSR told her keep the item and money.

Only reason I wanted the sport is for the 6ft box. I camp and a 5 foot box is useless. I'm off road tons and have never needed crawl or a locking diff. 4wd and clearance are key I've found.

    This man speaks the truth

I so wish the SR5 2.7L could have been had with a manual. That is absolutely the truck I would have gone with. And never looked back.

I know the SR had a very limited number of manuals available for 2016 and 2017, but the dealerships I tried to get them through refuse to drop ship or order those. They had no problem trying to find higher end trims....

The Sport was the only way I could get the manual transmission with the access cab. Therefore, the Off Road was eliminated as a option. Which is too bad, because there are certain features of the Off Road that I would have liked. One thing that I don't like about the Sport is the faux scoop hood. I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars to install a regular hood, and then hope to recoup some of that by selling the scoop hood.

He stated he didn't want to pay for Crawl control or a locker since he doesn't need them.

No regrets with my Sport. As long as you have 4x4 you’ll be fine. I do agree that you get more for your money with the off road but the extras it comes with are not a deal breaker for me at least. I wanted a long bed and the off road models are hard to find with long beds. So I went with the Sport. Love it, I’ve already gone on some beginner/moderate trails with other Tacoma’s and it went great. The Trd Sport is still a very capable truck. Next week I’m finally getting a lift and tires/wheels. So it’ll be even more capable and it’s going to look bad ass with the hood scoop :rofl:

I take my sport everywhere the off road kids go

Just put an OME nitrocharger suspension under mine this past Saturday. What are you getting for yours?

Someone will pay you for the hood and give you a off-road hood free....
they’ll even take it off and install the swap. You’ll end up with cash....just post on The hood swap thread. Probably make $300 and drink a beer while they do all the labor

    Nice.

I’m putting on Bilstein 5100’s all around with a 1.5” spacer in the rear to get 2.5” lift all around. Spacer in the rear is temporary for now, will eventually do something else in the future

It is. At least as an access cab. With an MT to boot (can't get that here in the states, else I would have one)

Gotcha, I stopped reading after the first sentence that said the only reason was for the 6 foot bed.

I will say I definitely don’t regret getting an OR over the sport. It may seem strange around here to hear this, but I’m not a fan of the scoop. *ducks for cover*
