I've got 4 gear hang on V14 that shows up continually in the driving cycle (verified on a 30 mile drive yesterday). Load doesn't affect it as I was going down a very slight decline (not a hill) yesterday at 55mph and it didn't shift to 5th, even when reducing throttle input. Using D4D almost always now and seems I get an occasional flare when the shift occurs, too, depending on throttle input (seems at mid-throttle but will have to drive more to be certain). Not complaining...just adding to the V14 conversation!

Forgot which version I’m on, I believe 13. I only get the 4th gear gang if I mash it to 70 on an on ramp. If I more gradually to to 60 it will shift up to 5th and I can keep slowly accelerating in gear to 70+

Hello everyone! I have a 2012 2nd Gen 4.0L Tacoma with a Magnussen Supercharger on it. The kit states it needs 91 octane minimum. However in Anchorage, Alaska we only get 90 Octane. I don't want to do water meth, octane booster, etc. I just want a custom tune for 90 octane so I can use local gas and travel for long overland trips. How can I do this? Can anyone recommend a tuner that can tune remotely? Thanks for your time in advance!

Did a thing today.. Went out to log of my current tune (87Octane) and then reloaded a modified version of the stock tune w/ my throttle mapping.

Thought it would be interesting to see "what's changed".

    StockvsMytune.jpg
*Brighter colors are my current tune, muted colors being 'stock' tune*

Interesting to see the rate of acceleration difference along with the amount of additional airflow with a more conservative ignition mapping than OEM.

I also really like the Scatter plots!

JustDSM been driving the modified trans map but really haven't had a chance to test it out at highway speeds hopefully in the next couple of days I'll be able to get a legit highway test

Do the torque tables contribute to the shift scheduling? On v14 if I did a light throttle acceleration 3rd will rev out higher and seems to linger there before deciding to shift compared to the other gears. Also since I got re-tuned recently I had to copy the v14 trans values to my new tune, but shifting still doesn't seem nearly as snappy as before. The torque calculations are the only item in question from what I can tell.

We are thinking that changes in torque tables are messing with the non tuneable Trans AI. So we are tying to match trans torque tables to optimum torque tables that have been changed to make the trans AI behave better.

Made it hang today... sigh. It refused to upshift to 4th if i held the throttle, I had to fully let off and "coast" for a few seconds then get back into it, before it wanted to shift to 5th. Before the trans torque table changes no amount of throttle play would of made it shift so... positive direction!

So got a smidge more highway driving in today. I did NOT have to go for D4D... but hang DID occur for more than necessary as well as a flare when it did decide to shift. Needless to say the changed table has changed things with regards to this issue we are having.

Yeah. I would have explained HARD that I was tuning.

J/K tuning tax sucks. Let the record (my driving record) state I got the first speeding ticket in 12 years (20+ mph over) with a @JustDSM and @nd4spdbh tune. The cop didn't even care when I dropped their names.
