Yeah kinda glad it's out of stock, I really do want the Founders though, I got some ideas for 3D printed or custom water loop stuff for that V notch, and dang it if they just don't look pretty and well engineered.

From what I have seen they're the only true 3 slot card as well, all the others are 2.5 or cheater 3's they don't actually use a 3rd din plate and screw.

 

$1800 is MSRP for the EVGA FTW3.

$1500 Founders

Cheapest 3090 would be the Reference but the reference wasn't made with go round but estimated MSRP would be $1300.

I have a 3090 FE, $300 more is a lot on an already high card. Hard pass on the kingpin.

I had one of the cheaper EVGAs and sold it when I got the FE.

 

Well the King is for LN2 and extreme overclocks if you're not pushing the boundaries there really isn't a point in shelling out but if overclocking is your hobby then there's no substitute, the FTW3's are for hard OC'ing on water, if you're leaving them on air on stock clocks you kind of wasting your money unless you really just care about an overbuilt card with a good cooler for stability and longevity like I bought my 1080 Classified for.

I want the Founders because it's binned and built like a AIBP card and it's frankly the best looking card I've seen in years.

I just want a 3090 for "furure proofing" and all them extra delicious VRAMs for VR.

 

3090 is not a great gaming card, you barely see any better performance than the 3080 in my benchmarks, I got it for rendering which needs the vram for time savings. I play a ton of VR as well and have an Index and a Vive Pro, Q2 as well on wifi6; and don’t see them really pegging 3080s. I don’t see this card being a keeper. I also sell my gear with almost every generation and get new, I wouldn’t call this one future proofing by any means especially with AMD coming up hard.

Especially if the industry switches over to their version of ray tracing and DLSS.

3000 series isn’t liking OCing that much. I’d go probably Asus if you want to OC.

 

pretty sure its a go, talks about it being a direct competitor to the 6900xt

 

200 dollars more for less performance than a trio x? why would anyone buy that
