Update: I have a 2001 Tacoma that had a rusted frame. The frame was replaced in 2009 along with some other parts. This repair was covered by Toyota at no cost to me. My truck was in for service on 12-10-2018 and I received a call stating that there was a rust problem on the 'new' frame. I told them that they had replaced the frame in 2010 and at that time I was told that the new frame was warrantied for 15 years from the date of installation (12-22-2009). Toyota stated they would not cover this repair (after many angry letters and phone calls) so I had a company in RI weld in a new section. Today I noticed that the other side of the truck frame had rusted through. The truck has 266,000 miles and still runs and looks great but I can see other areas of the frame that are in poor shape. I am not going to invest any additional money in frame repair. I would like to purchase a new Tacoma but don't want to spend $40,000 on a new truck if Toyota has not adequately addressed this problem. Does anyone have any insight into this? Has Toyota addressed this problem? Thanks
