Hello! I will be moving from CA to WA next month and plan on loading my studio apartment into a 5x10 or 6x12 U-Haul cargo trailer and pulling it with a 2020 TRD Pro. I don't have any experience towing and have been searching the forums for best practices and I'm still unclear about two things:

Should I be towing in Drive or 4? If 4, do I manually shift up to 4 from a stop or do I keep it in 4 the entire trip?

Should I be using ECT PWR?

    Thank you for your input!

Tow it in 4 as the owners manual states. Just put it in 4 and go. That is a long first time tow for someone without experience. You’d be far better off to use moving pods to move your stuff. Call a pod company , they deliver what ever size moving pod you need to where you live. Load it up and they pick it up and deliver it to your new address. Easy peasy.

Use 4 and ECT power to tow it. Based on your previous towing experience, I agree with @Sprig you may want to use a moving service that will drop off a pod for you to load and then deliver it. Keep in mind it's just not pulling the trailer but being able to navigate it through city streets, in traffic, gas stations, etc. If you feel comfortable doing things like that then go for it. BTW - welcome

Meh, I say go for it! A 6x12 uhaul is well within your trucks' capability. Towing isnt completly idiot proof but you've done the necessary homework. Take it slow, leave extra stopping distance and take frequent breaks.
