Yep, it is morning. So many times it works like this at my place of employment. The person who did the original's grammar perhaps a notch below mine. 20201216_055401.jpg

Boss man just told me my coworker is off the rest of the year! He rarely uses a vacation day and we're closed the next 2 weeks after this one so it's just me out here in the shop for 3 days :goingcrazy:

What kind of shenanigans can we expect the next 3 days...
Nice you’ll be getting some time off, any plans? If I had to guess, there will be some hunting involved!
Any new small farm implements in the works lately?

We have been talking about it for a few years and since we had to put our dog down (won't have to find someone to feed him, etc.) this year we have decided to do it. We rented a house in the mountains 2 1/2 hours away and are going there for Christmas for a few days. Going to cut us a live tree there and everything. I've never had a live tree, dad was a fireman and he said nope.

We are closing the store Christmas eve through the 27th (reopen Monday).

And yes sir, hunting will be in the mix while we're home, season goes out January 1st.

I made some moldboards for a miniature plow, that's as far as I've gotten with it.

But are you the world’s okayest employee? That’s all we hire around here.
Congrats on the promotion by the way. We use Fastenal for our abrasives and they don’t let us down, always here super quick with our stuff. I hope it’s just a regional thing and doesn’t affect you, but our rep is always telling us how screwed up his corporate office is. Again, just hearsay, but I hope everything works out for the best!

That’s awesome you’ll get to sneak off to the mountains for a bit. This is the first year since I’ve had kids that were spending the holidays at home. Which if you ask me is a really nice change. I’m normally piloting us on a 2 day trip to Missouri to see the wife’s grandparents.
I’m totally planning on relaxing a bit and plan on smoking a turkey the day after Christmas. Heck, maybe I’ll even get my bumper on then too!

Here’s the mini moldboards. I have plans to make a 2 bottom fast hitch plow, sometime.

This will be the first time I've ever been away from home for Christmas. It'll be nice to get away.

We don't go to my parents anymore plus they're getting over the cooties going around anyway. Her parents, we weren't going there either this year.

While I'm off I also need to pull the bed off my Duramax so I can replace the fuel lines and install a lift pump my wife is giving me for Christmas. And I need to finish the sheetrock in our bathroom and paint it. I hung the sheetrock last year when I was off for Christmas, I have almost finished it and have one coat of primer on it but have a few flaws I need to fix before painting it.

I never had a fake tree... when I met my now wife she had a fake tree, when she took it out of the box our first Christmas together I promptly put it in the trash.

my situation was exactly opposite, I never had a real tree growing up until I was with my wife. I’ll admit, they’re a little bit of a pain, but they look a lot better!
This year I researched getting a live potted tree to use, then I could plant it in our yard. As of late, we’ve had a lot of mature trees die off or get taken out by hurricanes, so it’d be a good investment.
But they were cleared out at all of the local nurseries.

We've only been celebrating Christmas for about the last 12(?) years or so and we're still on the same fake tree. It's held up surprisingly well but this year we had some issues with the lights so we'll be looking for a new one. On clearance, of course, because I'm a cheap bastard. :p
