Current configuration: 2005 Tacoma PreRunner Double Cab 2WD V-6 with 265/70R16

I currently have a set of General AT 2 Grabbers that have been recalled. Trying to choose between 3 different manufacturers. We don’t get snow and ice in Southeast Texas much but we do have hot days and lots of rain sometimes. Or mud is a mixture of different types of clays and can be very slick. Coastal areas are sandy of course and in East Texas some hard ass clay type soil. I don’t get off road much but when I do I don’t want to have to worry about get stuck or traversing a slope. I do go fishing and this is the extent of my off roading getting to and from beach access, travel down the coast or backwoods.

Looking for insight on theses tires below that will perform both on the street and in conditions as described. I see good reviews for the Toyo, I like the look of these. Goodyears are ok, nothing special and have never owed Coopers.

    Toyo Open Country A/T III
    Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT
    Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S

    Appreciate any advice/guidance.

    Merry Christmas,

    Kevin

No experience with the Goodyear, but really liked my coopers and know enough people that really like the toyo’s. So looks like a good list to me.

I own the cooper 4s and I can tell you they are wearing quickly. They perform leaps and bounds better than I could have hoped, but I'm disappointed that in that Im already at 8/32nd with 1.5 years and maybe 20,000kms of driving.

Toyos are famous for durability and range, but they cost more.

Between those three and based on your described use Id rank them

    1 Toyos
    2 Coopers
    3 Goodyear.

Personally I chose Falken Wildpeaks though. :D

I’ve had toyo at tires in the past. Really liked them and they seemed to be the most well rounded tire for me. Enough grip on and Offroad. My vote out of these three would be the toyo
