Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but any know what type of mask would be appropriate for spraying on bed liner? I couldn’t find a specific answer. I was thinking P95? But not sure thanks!

Ya true! I was looking at that one before hand also. I’ll probably just get that one. I have a few paint projects on my truck coming soon anyways. So it will be well used. im using bed liner (with a lot of prep work) on my rear chrome bumper and touching up my steel front bumper. And also considering spraying my wheel wells. I do a lot of wheeling so I think it will be good so that I can easily spray it off but still look black and rough under there.

That 3M mask that jbrandt linked is the one I used when I sprayed that stuff. It worked good enough. I did it outside as well so ventilation wasn't an issue.

Looks a lot better than mine (I sprayed too far away at too low a PSI), and I'm 100% sure it will last longer (I didn't sand). Now to figure out an efficient way to scrape off an follow this guide! ;)

I screwed mine up (I used herculiner, not raptor), but when I did the bed rails, I didn't properly overlap the bedliner with where I sanded, so eventually the clear coat started pealing off.

So make sure you overlap the bedliner with the un-sanded finish.

I mean, it took like 8 or so years for that to happen...

Nice job man.. I have used Raptor liner on the bottom of beds, cabs, and firewalls with good luck. It holds up very well. Prep is 95% of the job... I am actually getting ready to do the inside of a bed and bottom side on a 1st gen that I just got.

I think I mentioned it but do get a couple extra bottles than the recommended amount. This way you can get a thicker coating.

I do agree, sanding, cleaning, and masking is all the work. Painting is quick and easy work.

Well cotton stops covid so an old shirt should work just fine /sarcasm

On a real note, there are 3 levels of VOC for raptor liner. Their website shows one with no VOC IIRC, so getting that one you'd be fine just spraying. Myself, I'll probably have some kind of cancer from welding smoke, leaded solder smoke, plenty of non-respirated indoor painting sessions, etc, so raptor particulates outdoors are the least of my worries. Gimme max VOCs

What prep work did you do? I’m currently sanding my taco down to raptor the whole thing and I’m using 150 grit since I have a ton of it. Going to clean off the dust then use some primer on bare metal. Wipe down with acetone before painting. Anything I’m missing here? Thanks
