Does anyone know if the bumper guard by Avid Off road will fit while using the demon brackets.

You could buy an actual bumper for that money. What a waste.

The SSO slimline covers the same area, has actual shackle hard points, and costs about the same.

I did see the slimline bumper and I love it but it wont give me much protection since I live where deer are crossing in front of cars all the time. I just dont want to trim the bumper.

The bumper guard you linked is going to do more harm than good in a deer strike.

The bumper guard you mentioned is for shopping carts and looks only.

From what I can tell I think the brackets might fit but the shackles probably wouldn't there are a few pictures floating around showing close-ups of the Demon Bracket mounts. I think there are better images showing the mounting locations of the AVID but I included one that shows the general location. I think the AVID installation instructions might cover it better than just images. I haven't seen any images with both options installed yet.

The Avid guard looks okay, but I doubt it'll provide much protection if you hit a deer. I'm guessing it would get pushed up into the bumper and grille if you hit something at speed. I think Victory 4X4 makes a slim line bumper that doesn't require as much cutting. I think the part you cut is hidden on that one, so you could go back to stock if need be, if I'm remembering correctly. It is definitely more expensive than the Avid guard though.

The SSO bumper is $855 vs $490 for the Avid guard. I think we have different definitions of "about the same." lol

Though, it's hard to really compare the two since they aren't designed to do the same thing. I've been drooling over the SSO slimline bumper since it first came out, but haven't been able convince myself to cut on my truck.

Thanks for the advice and the ideas I will keep on looking and might start with a light mount for now.

Another option might be the ARB recovery point but I don't know if that will work either plus you are getting really close to new slim line bumper costs at that point. I still have a few things left to do on my truck and once they are complete I've been eyeing the Victory sliders and bumper so I might change things up but for now the bumper guard works for me. Its saved my bumper from a couple of crappy parking jobs (people in this city will trash your front and rear bumpers if you give them the chance) and some tire debris thrown up by a truck on the highway.
