Either way this goes, I'll report back. Not one of those posts and never report back type things. I post on here every now and again...... Maybe change my Avatar from a beautiful high country lake to a "Sucker"

FYI......... I've been very specific on lines items, so we're very clear on this.

I've been scouring dealerships looking for a manual 2021 Taco and the story has been much the same for me at all of them: The incentive ends 11/30. The incentive that begins 12/1 could be better, could be worse, but they can't offer Toyota's $1,000 cash back incentive. I don't know how the dealership's bottom line is affected, but I'm assuming that offering the $1,000 incentive does not affect THAT DEALERSHIP, while $1,000 off any other way comes directly out of their pockets.

I also put a "deposit" on a truck. They haven't run my card, and I have it in writing that I can ask for it back at any time (the salesman volunteered that information, actually). It's really flimsy, and they may sell the truck from under me if someone shows up at the lot and offers to pay the sticker price, and I wouldn't really be upset, but the agreement we have right now is that the truck will come in, he'll notify me, and I'll come up to purchase it. If it arrives in November, we can lock in the price with the incentives and if not, we can see what the incentives are and take advantage of another chance to negotiate, hoping that they need to close more deals to meet their year-end quota. Or I walk.

Nothing's final until you put ink to paper, and don't do that until you scour every iota of the truck you will be driving off the lot with.

Picked up vehicle today, didn't have to wait until December so it ended well. Couple small dealer games, but happy.

MSRP was 46389 got it right at 10% off. I tried 4-5 other dealers around town and none would even consider since the demand is pretty high. Fact is, what I'm hearing is it's really not a good time to buy as supply is limited and demand is high. In the end a couple things were thrown in to up their "margin" but at that point I wasn't going to let 500 bucks deter me from buying.

Gotcha. My MSRP was right around that, OffRoad premium with moonroof and cargo slider and I paid $41007 + Tax.
