This is the same as my Craigslist ad. Happy to answer any questions or snap more photos if there is interest. I tried to be as thorough as possible. Clean title. I had ben thinking about a double cab for a little bit and the right one came along. More room for my wife and our dogs. Sad to see this one go though. Located in Portland. $8600 OBO.

For sale is my 1997 Tacoma extended cab. Timing belt was done less than 30k miles ago and it has new lower ball joints. The frame is free of rust and it has been an Oregon truck all its life. It’s a 5 speed manual, 4wd, 3.4 V6, and has an added limited slip locker in the rear. It has a Bilstein lift with add-a-leaf in the rear, larger BFG KO2s with good life left on them, and welded on rock sliders. Getting up there in miles at 277,000, but it’s the legendary 5VZ-FE engine, so it has lots of life left. Plenty of great maintenance has been done which I’ll outline below. It has a fresh oil change and tags are good until march 2021. The paint is in fair condition. There are some scratches and dings that are in line with its age. A few paint chips and scratches are showing some surface rust.

Work that has been done under my ownership:
    - Oil change and new PCV valve. December 2020.
    - Used OEM Toyota MAF installed October 2020. There was an aftermarket MAF on it that cracked. I sourced a used part in good condition.
    - New OEM Toyota lower ball joints and alignment - September 2020.
    - New stainless steel skid plate installed February 2019. Truck came without a skid plate so an upgraded part was installed.
    - Used Toyota charcoal/evap canister installed - October 2018.
    - New drive shaft center support bearing, also known as a carrier bearing, replaced May of 2018.
    - New engine bay/wheel well mud guards.
    - New aftermarket rubber mats up front.

Work by previous owner all done around 250k miles with receipts.
New steering rack and outer tie rods, rear trutrack limited slip differential installed, new heater core and a/c recharge, add-a-leaf installed in rear, new bilsteins all around for about a 2.5” lift, entirely new brakes on all 4 corners (calipers, pads, rotors, drums, shoes), new tires, new sway bar bushings, new driver’s seat belt, new spark plugs and wires, new fuel filter, new belts, new timing belt and water pump and thermostat, transmission and F&R diff fluids changed, new cam and crank seals, new valve cover gaskets, new intake plenum gaskets,

    Also has:
    - Flowmaster muffler with custom 2.5” exhaust
    - K&N intake
    - Welded on sliders
    - BFG KO2s - 265/75-16 with good life left on them
    - Raceline wheels
    - Spray in bed liner
    - Seats from an 01-04 Tacoma. They are comfortable, with seat covers on them, but are dirty underneath. The covers have been on the whole time I’ve owned it. One cover is starting to show some wear on the driver’s side. There is a rip in the seat bolster stitching underneath on the driver’s side. Could be repairable.
    - State of the art Alpine head unit from 2009. If you have an old iPod, there’s a direct connection. Also has aux input. This is connected to a newer amp and sub woofer.
    - Tow receiver.

    Downsides:
    - Small dents and dings that would be expected from a 24 year old truck that has done truck things. Clear coat peeling in areas - especially on the hood.
    - Speedometer can be bouncy for the first block of driving on cold starts. Doesn’t happen any other time. I’ve oiled the speedo cable which has a helped a little.
    - Some stains in the carpet.
