Hello everyone! My mind is stuck in the middle on my next vehicle purchase. I got approved for a 32k auto loan at my credit union with apr of 1.89%. I have 8k to put down. My question being should I get around a 20k or less newish camry or a tacoma. Which the Tacomas I like end up being in the mid 30ks. I adore and would be super happy with a Tacoma but financially wise I know the camry may be a smarter choice. So any advice to help make up my mind will be greatly appreciated. Ps. My previous vehicle was a Tacoma.

Pretty hard for us to decide for you. What is your lifestyle like and will said vehicle fit in? If you are adventurous but want a car I would go with a Subaru.

You should submit this question to the advice column on Jalopnik.

I won't be doing any crazy off roading any time soon but I'm opened to the possibility. I plan to keep the truck for awhile and am 23. Majority would be going to work and taking my dog for rides. Thing with the car is I never felt as safe in a car versus a truck.

No idea how to do that. And I want to stick with Toyota. Don't like Subaru much.

Fiancee has one of those rotting away in the garage. Needs a head gasket and probably a whole host of other things. Maybe its time to restore it and then lift it. :bananadance:

If you’re not in a rush, I anticipate the market will, sadly, be flooded with repo’ed nearly new vehicles in the next year. If you’re 23 and kinda want a truck, don’t buy a Camry. You’d never be happy with it and wouldn’t keep it.

    You got an 06 tacoma.

Do you use it as a truck? Do you need a truck ? Whats wrong with your 06? Why not keep the 06 and buy a used camry if you want it ?
