I am having an issue with my electrical. I have amps hooked up for my sound system which have been there for years now. I recently installed HID slimcubby lights and have all three power wires (2amps, 1 HID) hooked to the battery. For whatever reason when I am driving and listening to music if I turn my lights on it shorts out the amps and the sound cuts out. This only happens when I turn the lights on after the stereo is on and playing. If I leave my lights on before I start the truck or just leave them on auto all the time I never have the problem. It only occurs when I turn the lights on with everything else already going. I do not know what the hell the problem is.

I didnt notice this until I took a roadtrip back in June, installed HIDs in april. I was on the road for 8 hours straight one day listening to music so the amps had been running longer than normal. I clicked on the lights and then music died. Ever since the problem has existed. I have switched around the power wire configurations on the battery and checked all the fuses. I just dont get it.

    Any advice?

Battery might be getting weak and couldn't handle the draw. If it's not putting out enough power, it sounds like your amps will turn themselves off so you don't damage anything.
