Unwisely took an old Scout and fiddled with it, New 383 Chevy Stroker with Headers (embarassing), Corvette Tranny, reworked all body, repainted it, new upholstery, custom front bumper, custom rims/tires, Smitty Winch, etc, etc, extremely dumb as it was worth far more stock and far too much money was spent on fluff.

Gone to a 2003 Toyota SR5 4x4, low mileage (71K) and virtually stock. Mirrors are okay but some problems cosmetically and want to replace with good aftermarket (do they exist, seems a little questionable), needs a new windshield wiper reservoir, but generally very nice. Paints okay but needs some help, but not much, bumper has some dings in it.

Interested in comments relative to the mirrors and reservoir (probably junk yard look/see). Comments on what to do vs not to do..

Welcome! This forum will definitely allow you to spend as much money on your taco as you did on the scout if you let it.

I haven't found a good aftermarket mirror, they tend to vibrate and squeak, but 3rd gen 4runner should be compatible and plentiful at the junkyard and as a bonus the mirrors are a little bigger.

Reservoirs are cheap on eBay and also at the junkyard. If you have the kind that sits in your passenger wheel well it's easy to relocate it under the hood for better looks & less wheel rubbing.
