Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Yes, just to clarify, i bought VF Tuner and the Tune packs for 3.5 as i already had the cable. paid $499 on BF sale. then i flashed a file sent to me after the registration process, no P5f

Just i didnt knew the product doesnt include free updates anymore and that it is FINAL so its clear now this is what my $499 gets me, then ok. im not impressed.

I bought it for the information stated on the link below, and you already know some of the stated features there are just a promise we oughta be thankful for, ill wait then.

for those TW members that puts their best efforts to make the tune better and share THANK YOU as well as those who clarify my questions.

 

it does include free updates
there just aren't any right now
and the mechanism is TBD

the term "final" is unfortunate, as it implies no updates. but I think it was used to stop the complaining, lol

 

1. There will be "default" performance maps. Like we released with our base files.
2. there won't be nearly as many though. And some customization options (speed limiter, gearing, tires, etc) will then be done through vF tuner by users choice.
3. The "default" versions can then be customized to however the user likes, in vF tuner.

For example, the default version will come with gearlock. Some people don't like gearlock. Some people do. You can turn it on or off all on your own with vF Tuner.
Some people may want map switching. Some may not.

So that stuff the user can customize.

That's the only way it will ever be released. Because if I write out every option, every mod, etc into individual files it will be probably 100+ files per unique ECU ID and it will *never* get finished. that would be 3000+ unique tune files to make.

vs the option for folks to simply select what they want, don't want, what tires they have, gears they have, etc.






When have I ever said updates aren't free?

also don't take what is posted on this forum as absolute fact. This thread is wild, and many times something we say can get quite...twisted depending who is reading it.

Oops, I was wrong. He did buy VF Tuner but only wants to install the tunes that are already available. Got it. Maybe if @alberto1dh posts his ECU Calibration someone can share a tune with him that has everything he's looking for?

 

hey @OVTune - Just for my own education, do we normally need to be waiting about 5 business days to get a master license sent out after purchase of VF Tuner or was it supposed to be an automatic email? (i know you guys must be insanely busy, so I get it if there’s usually some delay in this process) Thanks

There will be a performance oriented 2.0 tune with map switching, but what Mat is saying is that there is no way for him to create one tune that suits everyone’s needs and desires, so if you want to customize it to your liking, he will give guidance for editing the tune in VFTUNER. You always have the option of using it as-is, but you can’t expect any changes after that point, since the changes can be made in VFTUNER yourself, or by one of the many tuners in the VFTUNER community.

 

ow do I get moosedittys mild to wild tune file? I tried said file is non supportive or curropted
