Does it slide on the bars or does the bars slide on something? If the latter you could put a wood support/scrap piece across the bar span the height of the bit depth. I assume you are trying to flatten the wood

Then move the scrap piece as you move the router

Yes, the log has about a 3/4” slope from one side to the other. I was gonna: slide on the rods, move the ends, make another pass, repeat.

I was thinking this, but the “gap” changes as I move “uphill”

I’m leaning toward one of those wood shaping wheels for the angle grinder, a bunch of checking with the level and a shitload of belt sanding....

I've seen people make a similar jig to the router one but for a chainsaw...basically screw two pieces of 2x4 on the sides and level them then use it to guide the chainsaw bar

I should have done that when it was still a tree, but, in my defense, I was only off <1” free handing it...

You can make one to any size. Built it for the job, heel use cheap but straight 2x4s if you want, but the router sled is a wonderful tool, and quite cheap

So.... if I whip up a box/sled for the router I think I can get my aluminum ramps rigged on their sides and leveled for ‘rails’. Stay tuned...

Simple but works! You have an extension on the bit or does it reach ok?

Anyone sell stuff on Etsy? I just put a few things on there. I’m wondering if it’s going to end up being a headache.

No extension. It reached fine with the normal travel of the router.

Once I got it all clamped, the rods weren’t as ‘flexy’ as they seemed....
