I just got a 2021 Tacoma in November and found out on the way home that the drivers seat was insanely uncomfortable, I put 1” spacers under the back bracket and that fixed my lower back discomfort for the most part but right where the seam is on the back of the seat there’s a hard piece in side of there that digs into my back and causes me physical pain and the foam in the back of the seat is paper thin so you feel everything in your back. I took it Toyota and they found a defect in the bottom of the seat where there was a metal rod that wasn’t secured however they said they don’t think there’s any defects in the back of the seat. I am going to take it to another Toyota to get a second opinion however if this is the case is anyone else having this issue? My wife used to lease a 3rd gen Tacoma and it wasn’t an issue and I set in another one at the dealership and the seat felt better than mine and the service manager agreed that the seat felt different but said he thinks that’s just how it is even though they were identical trim. If nothing else I may replace the seats completely, but if I do this does anybody know how to bypass the seat airbag sensor so that there will not be a light on the dash and the rest of the airbags will still be able to function properly? Or any other solutions to make the stock seat not kill my back?

Your driver seat should be power adjustable including lumbar support.

The drivers seat is power adjustable which the lumbar support isn’t an issue there’s a piece inside of the seam higher up on the seat that digs into my back and causes me pain on my upper back, it’s not a pain because the seat is uncomfortable it’s a pain because it feels like I have a metal wire digging into my back the whole time I’m driving, I’m not sure if this is normal or if it will break in over time whatever it is? It’s not an issue with my passenger seat but the foam in the passenger seat also feels thicker. I took it to a dealership and they said they don’t think it’s defective but they didn’t even take the seat cover off to look at the inside of the seat and make sure.
