I recently purchased a 4 cyl 2019 Double cab Tacoma with the TSS off-road package, basically comes with 17 inch blacked out rims, blacked out logo, blacked out grill etc, my question is will this bigger size of tires and rims cause the motor to strain more and possibly cause premature wear and tear on my motor or transmission? It runs fine to me but maybe in the long run ? The tires and rims came standard, tire size is 265/65/17r

Any larger or heavier tire will cause a performance difference. Huge tires may have an impact on the motor and tranny over time. The size you are referencing is actually the factory size.

Mileage will suffer. I lost 30% going from 245s to 265s, both P metric mild all terrain.

If you change the tires or rims in any capacity you'll mess up your speedometer and affect performance.

That is NOT a big tire. It is 1/10" taller than factory and 3/4" wider than the tires that came on my truck from the factory. You'll be fine.

Changing rim size, tire size or both WILL change it in some capacity. You trolling right?

This. Unless they're a really heavy tire or rim, the difference is negligible from the factory size. Nothing to worry about @Branmar96

You said changing them in any capacity will “mess up” the speedometer and affect performance.

    That is false.

I can add lighter wheels and less rolling resistance tires with the same overall circumference and have no issues with speedometer and have a performance benefit. Or I can get heavier wheels, taller, wider, and heavier tires and have a negative experience. But saying that any change in any capacity will cause the same overall affect is a generalization that isn’t accurate.
