When I start the truck up in the 2019, the rpms are going up and staying steady at 1000 until I start driving and get into second gear. I’ve had to live in the Tacoma for about 2 months now due to personal reasons. So it’s idling over night because it’s the winter to keep me warm. I can seriously tell something is wrong. Plus if I turn the truck on I’ll smell a weird chemical smell like almost from the engine even though I have the air circulating in the cab. There is also a ticking noise under the hood infront of the passenger seat.. and if I hit the brake, I’ll hear and feel a clunk. I don’t know what to do because it’s a lease and I’m already over the miles and have a repair that needs to be fixed too the fender and the side panel by the deal light got damages when I accidentally hit a cement pole turning into the car wash. My agreement was for 36,000 and I’m now at 55119. Any and all advice would be very appreciated!

I really appreciate that! Broke up after a 5 year relationship the same day I got transferred to a new job in Texas around the holidays kinda threw me in a loop. Just gotta keep moving forward with my head up. Tacomma is what I call her, and currently she’s my everything, literally.

    Wow good luck man.
The smell is antifreeze so it's normal no worries.

Don’t know about the other stuff but my 19 starts and hovers around 1k for a bit as well depending on if it’s warm or not then it will drop to a normal idle.

I’m pretty sure it’s a normal thing as my lexus....also a 2gr under the hood as well...does exactly the same thing.

Mine didn’t go back down to normal idle until I hit the gas, and most of the time it won’t go back to normal until I pass 2000 rpms but I feel like it’s getting into 3000 now, so I’m a little concerned.

Honestly it doesn't sound like there's anything wrong. High idle is normal, especially in park or neutral. Ticking sound can normally be heard from valves. The smell is probably nothing, but you think it's worse combined with all of the other things. Not sure what's going on with your brakes but if the truck stops fine and doesn't pull to the left or right it's probably nothing.

You should still be under powertrain warranty, lease or not, so call around to a few dealerships and take it in. Make it clear that you only want them to check out the powertrain due to ticking noise and high idle and you shouldn't even have to pay for a diagnostic.

Someone also recommended me getting my fuel filter replaced. I haven’t had that done yet. Is this something I should look into?
