Why did that never show up in any of the threads I read. Granted, I didn’t spend a whole ton of time looking into it. Thanks for the tip.

I been told that the interior LEd bulbs were a waste of about $20. I should have let the incandescent ones alone and they would have lasted 2/3 or more of the time I will own the truck but they do put out more light and look more modern. I don't regret.

I do almost regret the LED headlights in the low beams. While the Hikari ultra are good and probably the best I could have save a little coin and put in H9's. If they crap out in a few years I will do H9 instead.

I looked at the hidden grill light bar from DD but talked myself out of it. I would probably use it to show off a few times when it was new and then only use it a time or so a year, not worth $300 to me even it it's a great product. Like their fogs though.

"LEDs are notable for being extremely long-lasting products. Many LEDs have a rated life of up to 50,000 hours. This is approximately 50 times longer than a typical incandescent, 20-25 times longer than a typical halogen, and 8-10 times longer than a typical CFL."

The interior LED's were definitely not a waste, but the low beam LED's were if you don't have an LED housing.

This breaks it down really well (like every other one of crashnburn80's threads). You are actually getting less performance with your LED's than an H9 would in our stock halogen housings. H9's are also stupid cheap so sometimes when I'm bored and feel like I have used my current bulbs for a decent amount of time I'll go throw in Phillip's H9's as the are like $8 a pop.

I did the H9 mod and I'm very happy with the performance, however, time will tell how long they last, but for $21 a pair, it isn't a killer if they burn out earlier than the H11's.

The interior LED were not a regret for me just that I was told it was silly. I'm sure the LEDs inside will outlast the stock ones and the light output is more pleasant to me. Why wait until they burn out and hate dim lighting?

I did read crashburn's thread on head lights. The LED ones I picked were the ones he said we're the best he tested. H9 is probably a little bit more powerful but not the white color I was going for. They most likely will last a long time unless the cooling fans go bad. The H9 has about a 200+ hour life. As low beams that might be a year or two depending on how much night driving you do. I don't drive at night a lot except in winter when sunset is 4:30 - 5pm.
Just saying i probably spent more than I had to to get better headlights.

Put LED low & high's not long after getting the truck. They well outperform the stock bulbs, unless I went with a higher output halogen bulb. They've lasted 4 years and no issues.

Well, like I say ... Depends on what brand you buy. I've bought the 'Buy-em-by-the-bag for $9.95' generic ones, which I used to replace the anemic standard incandescent ones for the dash lights on older rigs I own... For something like that, they work wonders.
For lighting up the inside of the cab, to find all the dropped onion-rings? Not so much. For lighting up the cab, I bought the V-LED bulbs which are anything but the standard generic LED bulbs .. (And priced accordingly..) $40.00 for three dinky bulbs, but as they say.. Made the difference between night n' day..

Haha it’s true! The Jeep community are big offenders of worthless stuff. My buddy had a LJ Rubicon with 38s and long arms, full cage, you name it and barely wheeled it.

I agree, it’s your money so who cares. And frankly I plan on making some tasteful mods on my own truck. I like sleeping under a tarp and working on my outdoor skills when I go out but my wife can’t take any of that. So we usually sleep in our Tepui. I still say some rigs are just crazy built for nothing and I find it amusing, but to each their own. I have my own vices that I spend money on and my wife thinks I have too much outdoor gear. lol

I hear you, but it may just be you think you can see more. He goes into why pictures of LED's always look better etc which I'm guessing is why they seem to appear that you can see more in person, when in reality you are losing distance projection.

I wouldn't have kept running them just to validate my purchase decision. I ran them back to back and on a daily basis, they have worked better than the stock halogens. Had they not, I would have thrown them away years ago. I did not say they were perfect, just that they've worked better for me in my experience. The throw may be inferior, but I've found they illuminate things within that distance, much better

Truth be told, there is one mod that has been completely useless so far and I truly hope it continues to be- fire extinguisher mount. I wish I could say the same for my band-aid kit, but alas. I'm a klutz and like to hike over granite in the rain. :cookiemonster:

And now that I've read the thread I love how 90% of the comments are pointing out the stupidity of mods other people do to their trucks. Hell, I could do that all day. No wait. Actually I already do that all day, it just normally isn't concentrated in a single thread like this.

Plasti dipping my fenders black. It looked good at first but then after awhile it started to look dirty and bad. Had to peel it all off.

Sounds like a pretty cool mod if you could plasti dip better...I would know, I plasti dipped the center of my hood, something about “reducing sun glare” and “it would attract the ladies”. Ended up looking horrible and I removed it a week later:rofl: what a stupid mod

A healthy mix of functional mods and fun mods make owning the Tacoma fun.

I might get a ton of hate but I'm not a fan of those demon brackets and I like the raptor lights.

Also, the pro grill is the best looking grill. If that grill was on an SR5 poverty package I would still rock it. Nothing looks better yet.
