Just when The Fabrication was paying bills with the long hours The stress it became a job and not fun .

Going through the divorce I sold everything but one century welder and torch set and a few clamps maybe one grinder.

Even that sat untouched for a few years got this present job repairing welding machines really only made sparks for about 2 years .

Then I needed to make a serious weld no pressure fabrication is fun again

Finished the stand for my grinder. Added the multi tool attachment. This thing is a wheel of death. I like it.

Oh hell yeah. You have no idea what kind of shit I could sling around the shop, and stab into walls on that "wheel of death"...

If they don’t replace / refund that’s a simple credit card chargeback. You didn’t receive what you ordered. Gotta give vendor a change to address the matter first.

It’s a bit unnerving how fast this thing spins. I don’t feel comfortable standing in front of it yet. All the material says I’m within the proper RPMs for it though. Engaging my safety squints for now.

I can understand the desire to save money !! Not having the time to pick things up in person . Getting it for $1.50 a pound from a rejected pallet?

I open and check every spool of wire I buy in person.

It is not uncommon to see just what you have repacked in a fresh undamaged box.

Put a sheet of plastic on the wire break out the super glue good to go. That is the way I fix those broken spools when I get them gratis if not for welding lots of wire for general use.

Has your health care coverage provider seen this new multi-tool, because I am pretty sure that's gonna be covered in the fine print under "I'll take things that double the monthly premium for $800 Alex"? :)

I'd like to have one, but I know I'd end up with a hand injury, or worse.

Not much different then most any other power tool .

Though I had mine so the belt was vertical and spun in a downward direction anything dropped hit the water bucket on the floor still have all my body parts more injuries in the kitchen.

If your a klutz some lessons are hard and painful to learn.

All kinds of interesting things can cause all sorts of chaos

I'm still gun shy after this run in with my bench grinder, Aug 2019. See the last post in this thread.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-us-your-injuries.245650/page-6

Those two fingers will never be like new. I ended up with a line of nerve endings that grew out to the surface of my ring finger. It's like when you get an exposed nerve in a tooth, except they are permanently exposed and show no signs of loosing sensitivity, like teeth nerves seem to. They are also a lot bigger than nerves in teeth. All in all though, I was pleased with the recovery.

I was grinding a TIG electrode and my fingers got pulled in between the wheel and the guard. Happened so fast I really don't know how it grabbed me. BTW, I now take the time to mount them in a drill and grind them on a little 3" baby grinding wheel.

We have a saying in the military, if you’re gonna be dumb then you gotta be tough.

Also, stupid is supposed to hurt.

Where did I see that grinder before recently? Did you get it off a site?
Everybody please read. You might save your finger/s.

I'll never forget a few years ago, I was up at the Wood Workers Guild.... I had been using this big ass JET Belt Sander similar to this one [IMG][IMG] .
After I finished I grabbed up the eraser block thingamajigler like this [IMG] cleaned it off as best as I could, then shut off the machine, but the belt was gummed up from previous users so it didn't look very clean...

Well next thing I know the volunteer shop supervisor fella, a older gentleman at least in his 70's (and woodworker all his life, probably retired from it twice over), walked up behind me grabbed the eraser block and turned the machine on (guess he was thinking the belt wasn't clean enough, before I could tell him I'd already done it and it was gummed up).. He stuck the eraser to the belt (wide Open) and it caught the belt and yanked his thumb right into the belt, he quickly turned and took about three steps and turned back around facing me holding his hand....
When I looked at it, his thumb had been ground at a 45 degree angle from the cuticle to the tip mid way deep into his thumb... It looked like somebody swiped it off with a sword or something... It literally took a half a second if that.

I felt sick for him, but I tell you what he handle it like a dam champ, walked over to the first aid box and did what he could to bandage it up...

Moral of the story fellas, RESPECT THE SHIT OUT OF A BELT SANDER, or ANY TOOL for that matter.!

    Check Build thread
The worst. Has happened to me multiple times

Even worse when you buy multiple spools and everyone is broken
