Yep, boat ramps are usually wet.

Be careful dunking the drums in water to long with the e brake up. I have a bass boat and pull up the e brake often when I'm deeper. The brakes will lock up on you. Have to put in 4wd couple time and the rear would lock up. Sometimes really hard to break them loose.

I like that. Wonder if we can get @MESO to make a "Super Duty" badge we can slap on our trucks. :crapstorm:

Worse case scenario: The boat has a motor too. :D So you have 2WAOPD.

That’s 2 Wheel And One Prop Drive, in case I needed to say it. ;)

I’ll suggest a couple trial runs with the trailer alone, and if it doesn’t struggle, then load up the boat and send it.

I guess boats and trailers have gotten much heavier than in the 50's and 60's. Dad used to pull ours out with a '57 Chevy wagon. Of course the back was usually filled with kids so there was always some weight there.

Honestly, one thing that can make it easier than almost anything else (ocean wise) is high tide. The higher parts of the ramp aren't usually as slick.

The old Rivieras were front wheel drive. I had one and with the engine over the front wheels traction was great. I could have plowed snow with that car.

OP I wouldn't be worried but it isn't uncommon for any 2 wheel drive to have a ramp problem if you boat enough and explore many places like we do in Florida, but with that said I only once with my Gen 2 Pre Runner had to eat shit and ask a guy with a Jeep to pull me and the boat up the ramp because low tide exposed a bad ramp with a mucky sand that I just could not pull my boat out. But hey I was holding up the line so dude was quick to pull out a strap...
My gen 3 has 4 wheel drive for that memory and a beach driving surprise of stuckness.... :)

I’ve pulled boats out of primitive mud launches/slides about a hundred times in my truck. You’ll be fine.

Likely why this has been covered in our states safety boating/pwc courses.

Even though I have 4WD I don't always engage it at the ramp. I have never had an issue in 2WD. 2500 lbs.

Lots of good advice already, just wanted to say that I've always (from habit) unplugged the electrical connection before putting the trailer in the water. Not sure if it's really necessary, but it's how I learned and how I continue to do it. Just don't forget to plug it back in before you drive off- ;)

Had a wet steep concrete ramp once 2 wheel was a little dicey with the 6 speed and no traction control I have 4x4 so was quite easy but first attempt in 2 slid a little with lots of spin. AS stated above with lots of people doing it 2 wheel with traction control should be easy enough.
