Has anyone tried to put HIDs in this type of headlight? The light output sucks right now I was thinking about installing the Morimoto XB H11B but not sure if it will fit.

Don’t, they aren’t meant for hids. Those headlights sucked, I sold mine. They look cool but the light output is horrid

That sucks, is there any other bulbs that I can put in that could be better? I might have to retrofit my stock headlights or is it possible to change the projectors on these?

Since it sounds like you still have your OEM headlight housings, why don't you try this? Trust me, it works.

What I’d do is just retrofit the headlight with a quality HID projector kit. The problem is your aftermarket halogen projectors already have awful light spread with a bulb they were designed for, so it’s not like throwing a new bulb is going to help anything.

That way you keep the aesthetics you were after and also have superior light output.

Little bit of this and that
Couple different options as others have suggested. What I ended up doing for a short term fix was replace the crappy factory H1 bulbs with Osram Night Breaker Lasers. This helped alot but won't make up for crappy projectors. Long term fix is to do a retrofit with quality HID projectors.

Edit: looks like the 12-15 Tcmabeast lights use a H11 bulb instead of the the H1 utilized in the 05-11 lights. From @crashnburn80 's thread in the 3rd Gen section the GE Xenons are a top performer for a halogen H11, but that is in the factory 3rd Gen projectors which I have to assume are of a higher build quality than the Tcmabeast crap.

So it’s possible to change out the projectors? What brand and model should I get? I might order new projectors tonight, I’m getting tired of missing turns at night because I can barely see stuff and it’s not safe either.

Yeah should be able to swap them out for HID projector/bowl. It’s not going to be the easiest thing but can be done. I have no idea which projector. Can always get a kit from theretrofitsource.

see this thread for example: different light style but same concept.

Most of those halogen aftermarket projector style lights don’t have an actual removable housing bowl. They are plastic molded and that’s one of several reasons why the light output is horrible on them.

On my old truck, I did a swap in a set of anzo lights with morimoto h1s and it 3as a huge PIA. I had to use long threaded screws and epoxy to mount them. It’s wasn’t worth the effort.
