    Well that sucks.

    It's getting real bad over here. All the hospitals are being overrun with covid patients and it is getting to the point where they might have to start turning people away.

    My poor wife is getting exhausted every night dealing with them. The new 5 story tower is now at 100% capacity not for beds but for nurses.

    They have gone from 3 patients per nurse to 6 and it will likely go up but there is only so much they can handle.

    That might not sound like a lot but with all the needs and demands patients have it takes a toll on them.

    Rema is a charge nurse which she normally acts as a supervisor but now she not only has to handle the complex scheduling of many other nurses but also has to take on covid positive patients herself.

    It is wearing her thin. On top of that she is getting calls and texts all day begging for nurses to work more and more shifts. They can only do so much. Even the younger ones are not willing to work any more hours for higher pay because this epidemic is wearing them out.

    Tough times in regards to the Covid, and I don’t know how much I can yak about it here.

    We are doing contact tracing at work, I’m sure that everyone is to some degree. A text message will be sent if/when someone has a positive test, or even possible exposure due to family contact. Been a lot of messages.

    Wife works for the County Library. Five branches, similar contact tracing, tons of messages.

    Plans changed/altered. No Christmas parties, no family get togethers.

    Eh, I should quit there. I’m headed to the gun club for some trap shooting. Have a great day and stay safe!
