More than one thing funny about that...

 

I believe this is the darkest moment in NHL history as far as news on teams and players go.

I do not believe even previous lockouts were this devoid of information.

NHL still wants to start on Jan 01, I hear. Not sure what the NHLPA has to say about that.

 

Reports are we are heading into a lockdown. The NHL goofed badly. You can't sign a CBA with cost reduction measures and then try to force the players to accept double that reduction.

MLSE has started putting staff on paid absence because it saves a little money in the long run. That's a pretty good sign one of the NHLs bigger teams is not anticipating starting training camp this month.

 

This is depressing.

Apparently helmet decals / on ice projected advertising and ads on glass behind the benches are all only a 1 year test deal to retain sponsorship with no fans in buildings

on another note , the NHL finally fixed their stupid offside rule so it no longer matters if a player's skate is on the ice or off the ice , just whether it is breaking the plane of the blueline

 

If you think that fixes it, enjoy the replays where the fuzzy edge of the blue line is ruled against your team. I don't see this being over until they bring goal line technology to the blue line. Something tangible the linesmen don't interpret, which kind of ruins the game IMHO. The original rule change/challange was supposed go be for clear offside goals to be called back. This mickey mouse bull crap of measuring millimetres on the blue line ruins the game.
