I don’t even have to say it but y’all know who my sponsors are. The problem with having old shit - 4th gen T4Rs are old shit - that is effectively stock is that sponsors aren’t going to dump product or money into a plain Jane project that’s not being used by someone generating interest no matter how awesome yer’ mum thinks you are.

You have to create a large social media presence and constantly interact and post interesting content. The most interesting part of my life is my son and our puppy so that’s basically what I post on my IG. That’s doesn’t sell anything for anyone so why would anyone want to sponsor my cars that I barely share and already have all the primary components sorted and installed. Due to my medical issues I can’t take big trips and take heaps of photos/videos and go and press the flesh shaking hands with everyone trying to get an in. Kidney transplant will hopefully change that if/when it happens.

For every ten thousand “influencers” out there twenty will get a discount referral deal that just gets them a better discount. Me, I’d rather just support the family and Offroad community owned outfits to keep them in the game creating better and better products for all of us. Your best bet is to innovate and create a brand around a self designed/manufactured product or specialized service and parter with other brands to create an ecosystem that all parts support each other.

If someone is coming into the automobile enthusiast community thinking that sponsors are going to float them what’s needed to create their “dream car” then they will get their feelings hurt soon enough. Just do it to have fun, learn, and enjoy the experience. I know guys with $2k cars that are wheeling more and definitely having more fun that folks with $50k cars.

“If you spend more time washing it during the year than you have wheeling it, you are missing the point.” - Some random cunt that’s not wrong.

    Edit: corrected autocorrect spelling errors.

    Totally agree.

I told Josh and Tim this. It would be a different story if their rig was built/ custom and it stuck out, people would take them seriously.

It’s funny to see all the people that flock to the “influencers” (not Rich this time) On the socials. I poke fun at those guys all the time and the same people that follow the influencers are in my dms laughing and agreeing.

It’s a funny world we live in.
