I was under the truck doing some wiring and noticed some oil stains near the oil filter. Trying to figure out if it's a potential issue or just left over from a sloppy stealership oil change.

    Pictures below.

I can't find a source of the oil, checked the top of all cross members, hoses..etc couldn't find oil on anything else. Just one small spot near a bolt on the front diff but it's not near the oil spot on the skid plate.

It's been 1000+ miles since last oil change, I've driven a fair amount of dirt roads since then so I'd assume there would be dirt stuck to the oil, so it seams recent.

Truck is under warranty (1000miles left)

    Any thoughts?

Clean it and reinstall it. Drive it for a couple of days and look at it again. If it has oil on it, you have a leak. If its clean, its leftovers from a sloppy job.

Sometimes the frames will seep oil. Couple of spots on my frame have oil like brake fluid or something was spilled on it. No oil has been spilled or misplaced. Ymmv though

I'll take a better picture tomorrow. To be completely honest I'm not exactly sure what it was. Partially took the skid plates off to get to know everything under them.
