+16 HomerTaco “Ghost Raptor” grill

This literally came about from some spare parts I had and a weekend’s worth of tinkering in my shop.

The surround is an aftermarket TRD Pro grill that I had butchered for the center cross bar. After the surgery I realized that it would still fasten to the truck so I decided to try and actually make something of it. The mesh is my M4 with Toyota embossed in it. AKA the “ghost Raptor” grill style.

The trick was trying to figure out a clean way to finish the open ends on either side from removing that center bar.

I’m pretty happy with the results:




There’s only one issue to note: one of the 16 clips is broken. I wasn’t concerned because with my original intent this could have just been thrown out.


Obviously, I don’t own a 3rd gen so this is for sale.

Looking for $475 + shipping considering it’s a prototype build.

It will definitely work on a 16 or 17 without the bullshit sensor crap in the grill. As for 18 & up, I have no way of knowing what additional mods would need to be done to make it work.

Pretty slick but I’ve got the 2018 sensor variant. If it was already sorted I’d be a candidate.

Looks nice, but that’s about 3 times more than I’d be willing to pay. Very creative though.

 

His craftsmanship is about 3 times more than what you’d be willing to pay as well lol.

I can make more but I haven’t even sold this one.

 

If I upgrade my rig I'll want one...I kinda wish I had one for my rig now but not sure I'm capable of installing it myself lol.

 

Installing a grill is alot easier than you think.

1. Open hood.
2. Remove two bolts and two clips
3. Remove old grill
4. Install new grill
5. Install two bolts and two clips
6. Close hood.
7. Smile

 

And that's one of the many reasons why I love my truck. Easy to work on.
