My 20 sport premium says leather seats but there is not much leather on them. I was very disappointed when I saw the cheap looking vinyl.

That's pretty much the case with any vehicle that costs less than $100,000. Typically only seat backs and bottoms are either genuine full-hide or processed leather (leather scrapes bonded together into a sheet). Bolsters are vinyl.

C7 Corvettes for example are standard with "leather interior" (bonded seat bottoms and backs), however to get genuine "complete full-hide leather interior" cost just under $10,000 more.

Rolls-Royce/Bentley full-hide leather interiors for example, typically take hides from 9 steers to create. These steers are raised just for these interiors and have special diets and kept without barb-wire, or anything that risks scaring the hides.

That being said, after 2.5 years, I'm really pleased with the so-called "leather" in my 2018 TRD Sport premium.

Yes, I know I just wanted to see if there was any difference that anyone that has either trim could point out cause I feel like they are about the same.

Wow, how come? I dont go off-road, all I need is light towing and a bed to use at times.

Thank you for the response, I did not know there was a difference in suspension between non off road models.

Thank you for the response. Decided on the limited. After putting all the options on the sport, it turned out to be close in price to the limited.

I have a Sport Premium and I love it. And it's true what they say about the scoop. The naysayers are just pissed because we get all the chicks.

They drive differently. Test drive both, you’ll feel the difference and may prefer one over the other. The Limited is not the exact same suspension as the SR5, it has different shocks giving it a more luxury ride coupled with the larger rims.

Nice color, I tried to get that color, but would have to wait for 2 months.

Limited has different suspension, wheel size, several options are standard, leather, heated seats, BSM, etc... I prefer the limited, but just my personal preference.

Went for the limited, the sport with all the added options was about same in price.

I choose the TRD Sport with premium package because of it's versatility as it handles/rides, comfort and amenities are similar to what's found in a luxury SUV, yet it will also handle any off-road situation you are likely to put it through.
Now if you are a strict off-road enthusiast, then the "off-road" may be best choice for you.

get an SR and build it how you want :anonymous:

lol kidding I got an SR because it was what I could afford - I did opt for the 4x4 and V6 though!

they’re both nice, but I’d go for the OR. chrome is ugly.

    Working on it ...
I have had Off Roads in the past. Not once in 30+ years have I ever used the locking differential and several other “off road” Features.

December 28, 2019 I bought my first TRD Sport - Premium & Tech package with leather. It is by far the most comfortable truck I have every owned (have had 4 Toyota’s). It goes everywhere I ask it to go in snow or off road. I’m not climbing up the sides of mountains, but no off road complaints. It is not a trophy vehicle, I work it like a rented mule. Almost 21,000 miles later, it is still earning its keep and still running and riding like new.

I am personally not big fan of the Limited. A bit too much going for the fancy angle for a pickup truck. But that’s just me. But for those who like that, great! Enjoy it and do your thang with it. It’s still a Tacoma.

95% of people don’t know what a locker is, let alone actually using one when it’s needed. Get what you want and like. If you need the locker, get an OR. If you don’t need a locker, get one that actually looks good. Like a limited or a sport...
