I'm actually leaning towards direct measurements at the terminals. My control module voltage seems a couple tenths lower than direct measurement at the terminals. I don't know what happens before the control module voltage but I know exactly what the terminals are seeing. I might be thinking of this wrong though. It's certainly harder to monitor but I think it's more accurate. Thoughts?

I’ve measured at both on mine. As long as I’m in a general range, I’m not too worried.

I error on the side of being safe without going overboard in either direction. I figure anything from 14.2-14.5 is sufficient.

Hey guys, just getting into vF tuner. Read this entire thread. Decided to try @Naonak numbers for my 2016 04B04 dual Optima Yellow Tops. On Cold start I'm seeing almost 14.6v at the terminals and at running temperature it tapers off at 14.35v. I'm pretty happy with that I think unless someone says otherwise.

My odyssey charger charges at 14.6v. Anyone know if these changes to the ECM can be applied to the 2.7L? I'm willing to give it a shot.

I’m not aware of anyone that has tried on the 2.7 but if the tables are available then it would be doable

Anyone in So Cal want to help me with this? Please send me a PM... I'm not a dummy, just the internet is full of information I just need a little assistance to get myself moving down the road. I need a quick and dirty how to get down this tuning road (to include voltage tuning). Ideally I would really like to do this on my own at some point. Thanks in advanced!

Doing my research, correct me if I'm wrong... I'll need the following
    1) VF Tuner Software
    2) The cable offered by OVTuned or Tactrix?
    3) *** Curious what's the Tacoma 3.5L vF Tune Pack for? Additional base maps and tuning? Not really needed correct?

Any idea why OVTUNES would not simply cancel an order placed in error? Nothing shipped and immediately contacted them, but did not receive any response to the 4 emails sent to them and get a shipped notice today ( 6 days later). I get it if ordered and received, but not cancelling an order that has not even shipped and was an honest mistake.

Mind my ignorance here... but how do you accidentally order it by adding the item to your cart, your address, credit card info and click submit? Just wondering.

Did not say by accident, it was in error and what i stated above
I ordered the incorrect item and thought it was tune pack. He never responded to that questions either so i asked to just cancel it and i figure out for sure what i need. There is no repercussions to cancelling an order that has not shipped. Charge a fee, but not $400 and tough $#$* .

You did your part, they should have refunded you anyway.

    Hey everyone,
After some research I am finding that i think we may be charging our AGM batteries a bit high with the alternator settings, but I cannot confirm because this is not my expertise. I am no battery/voltage expert so this stuff is new to me, just trying to make sense of the standard for AGM.

What I am finding is below, please share your thoughts if you like:

    Another source here cites:
    "
WHAT IS THE IDEAL CAR BATTERY VOLTAGE YOU CAN HAVE?
Measuring your car battery’s voltage can be a great way to determine how charged your battery might be. The ideal car battery voltage range will provide you with a relevant interval according to which you can measure precisely what the voltage says about the battery’s current charge. A perfect voltage with the engine running is between 13.7 and 14.7V. With the engine off, you should get a reading of 12.6 volts. If the battery isn’t fully charged, it will diminish to 12.4V at 75%, 12V when it’s only operating at 25%, and down to 11.9V when it’s completely discharged. This data and the way it relates to the design of your battery should provide you with some useful insight into the functioning capacity of your car battery."

What’s weird is I smelt a slight weird smell coming from my engine bay yesterday after a little drive. Opened it up and my sniffer confirmed it coming from the battery. Checked the voltage with the engine off and the battery is at 12.56 volts with a multimeter.

Something doesn’t seem quite right and that was the first time I have ever smelt that smell parking in my garage in the same spot. Who the F*** do we have to get in here to set a standard for AGM values in these damn tables? It’s 2021 let’s do this. @Shellshock, adjusts just the main ECU table right? Any issues? Seems legit, but can’t be sure (no offense). Your “keeping the factory curve” makes sense.

Im gonna be super pissed if I have to drive 8 miles all the way back to Costco and exchange this batt for a new one. Gonna be more pissed if this bitch explodes

    :bananadead:

If I remember right the voltage of a fully charged AGM battery is 13.0-12.7v so the 12.5v you tested at the battery is within limits.

I switched over to stock tables last night, but just raised the ECU table to 94 from 0 up
Now it sits charging while driving at 14.3-14.4 which makes me feel better.
